latter case is only useful for browsing - or chatting on arqade - don't expect to play MMOs on that :)

A good place to train pickpocket safely is the arena - after you've killed the opponent, there are a quartet of 3.2s "bonfire" items that you can just pilfer because no one can spot you, and your training goes faster if you try to pickpocket heavier things.

Identify all is cheaper compared to just identifying singular things. A good tactic is to drop all things like: raw ore of mica/rubynus/emerald/diamond, junkstones, and the blood/bones/skin/heart of monsters - drop all of these on the ground and then pick identify all to save money on things you don't need to.

So for example, you need to identify any "blood" item once, that identifies the item class of "blood" for you, making all blood sell for normal price. It also identifies that specific blood as to whether it's blessed or cursed. Any future blood you pick up, you can identify whether it's blessed or cursed, but that's not useful to do.

For the most part it's just a knowing kind of thing but there's only 5 (I forgot eyes earlier) kinds of monster part drops so once you've gotten all five at least once then you just never bother even thinking about those and just sell them when you step into town.

Books and such you'd have to check the shop, though, but for the most part those don't sell well for their weight so I usually don't even pick up the red books in dungeons unless they say Rachel.

Ability Point, I guess. I don't think it's ever really said yet.

AP is used for two things - starting from the second part of the game, you can use AP to improve your Speed or to learn one of four special feats (your pets can also do this, as well as learn new special actions); you also need AP to use an item called an Astral Light Pen.

The former can't be done until you clear the main quest North Tyris (which won't be any time soon for anyone here), the latter you're unlikely to get one short of using a wish and as being new to the game there are generally better things to use wishes on, like seven league boots or free skills. @RavenDreamer All Hand items can be held in the Shoot slot, and vice versa, but unless it's a designated ranged weapon it's just going to be Throwing for the ranged attack and I think they're all classified as Blunt for the melee.

I notice that, on Xbox at least, both RB and A are assigned to handbrake. I had a look at the controls and noticed that A is also used for answering the phone in the vehicle, so my question: is there any difference between the two handbrakes? It's also one of the more forgiving ones (there's an easy mode, there's a good save feature and you can revisit areas easily). And it's got a metroidvania style of exploration instead of just "warp here, beat boss"

The NES games are amazing for what they are but I don't recommend starting on them

@OrigamiRobot ZX Advent is amazing. There's exploration but still the multiple paths (2-4 options at a time though), abilities are VERY different (you get different forms instead of single weapons), you get subtanks to heal and items to equip

And, possibly best of all for beginners, there's an Easy mode where spikes don't insta-kill

The variety in playstyle is great though, lots of different weapons. I never cared for the "buster and rarely use special weapons" gameplay of the NES ones
