Warning! A friendship has been detected!
I like using those lines for Mapchooser Extended's map voting sounds!

Q: Where do rocksteady come from?

ZivRocksteady are a pretty new developer and Batman: Arkham Asylum is only their second game, but it feels a game that's from an experienced developer that had the time and the resources to make a truly great game. That's the kind of polish and just plain solidness you expect from big studios that h...

Okay. Who upvoted me?

@Powerlord It's.... silly.

user30
@Powerlord Does it need sounds?

user30
tf2tp is down. :(

@ThomasMcDonald No.... and didn't we already go through all this once?
About me moving sounds outside of core to a separate plugin, making the default sounds all ones that ship with TF2 but aren't used, etc...?
Well, I take it back, the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 sounds are all used.
but they're given context by the other sounds.

user30
@Powerlord I think I complained about custom sounds in general

8:34 PM
@ThomasMcDonald Yup... except, since they're shipped with the game, are they really "custom" sounds?

user30
@Powerlord They're not custom sounds, I was saying I think my previous groan was about custom sounds in general.

user30
but does a mapchooser need sounds?

user30
could just be me, I guess

@ThomasMcDonald Not really. In this case, it's a warning that a vote is going to take place, as said votes block all number (read: weapon change) keys.
I just thought of some amusing things to do with the other lines. I wonder if SourceMod's EmitSound lets you use the @red and @blu identifiers.
Oh wait, if it doesn't, I can use FindTarget which does. :D
I can just imagine playing the "I don't want to single anyone out, but one of you has betrayed your employer and must die! The rest of you are... satisfactory." or however that phrase goes. I may be combining two of them in my head.
Anyway, playing that to just one team. :D
The WAR update sounds are great, I just hope Valve doesn't remove them at some point, or it'll break this.
HAVING SAID ALL THIS, the extension I'm writing now is meant to be an alternative API to the SourceMod voting system that blocks the 1-9 keys during votes and instead uses the TF2 vote system, but still allows scripts to handle the results. Unfortunately, it requires client-side support, so even though it'd work on the server-side on CSS, it won't bring up the proper vote interfaces on the client.

The SourceMod voting system? Oh, that thing that I keep instantly dismissing without looking at because I'm switching weapons?

Not that I actually play TF2 these days anyway.

@badp Touché, bro.

@Brant Yes, that one.
One of the things Mapchooser Extended does is block slots 1-3 by default to prevent accidental votes. The TF2 internal voting system uses F1-F5... which is why I'm writing something to allow custom votes using it.

Q: How can I improve and work an offshore resource?

j-g-faustusI'm playing Civ 5 for the first time, in the "learn as you play" tutorial. How can I improve or work resources that are at sea, far from any city? As an example I found the natural wonder Krakatao, and the popup text says that there is an extra bonus if it is worked. How can it be worked? Are w...

@RavenDreamer If you get a friend request from a generic-sounding G name, that's me, by the way. ~

Q: How can I get more saved-game slots in Portal 2 (Windows XP version)?

Norman RamseyI'm playing Portal 2, in chapter 5. When I try to save, the game tells me there are no saved-game slots left, and I will have to delete some saved games. I find this behavior incredibly irritating. Is there some way I can get more room for saved games?

Argh, still can't save replays to movies without TF2 crashing.
I want to post my 15 Backstabs in a Dead Man's Keep video. :/
