Online multiplayer requires you to have access to all dungeons. Couch co-op is available at the start.

I would note that online multiplayer is beyond unnecessary for the period before you unlock it.

At the start, you only visit one dungeon at a time, primarily to satisfy story objectives and return back to town to visit all places and spend some amount of time before advancing to the next actual dungeon you work on. A dungeon at this stage, because every single enemy and boss is at anywhere between 1/8-1/2 their actual potency for even their lowest level incarnation, takes maybe 7-12 minutes to clear.

After you get past this portion of the game, everything ramps up to their proper strength for the difficulty level you are on, and you also have the option to continue from one dungeon onto the next to accrue bonus multipliers and get better loots and, the most relevant point, spend more time actually dungeoning with people at once. It is at this stage that you get to do online because prior to this stage, you probably spend half or more of your time not with people online.

Q: I can't dig certain materials in Minecraft

Now, I haven't done any actual netplay, so I have no idea what it is like to setup a connection with people, organize who is what player, and all the associated jazz, but to do that to get barely 10 minutes of dungeon action, only to disband and wait an equal amount of time of story before going through the whole rigamarole all over again, I expect that's so bothersome is why it is designed such.

@BenBrocka To a point, I don't fully mind it because this "early-game" stage is both a means to actually get a brand new character to a serviceable level, and also learn the ropes of using that character in every dungeon, nevermind try out skills. You'll have accumulated fine loot as you journey that basically makes the process a cakewalk with new characters for the most part.

The profile is hard-deleted as far as I know, but the posts get a user1234 as owner where the number is unique. So they can reassociate posts with a deleted user if they have to. Stuff like certain badges, profile information or so is permanently lost.
