I was pretty burned out on this project for a while, but recently I've gotten back to making the computer based on 8x8 tiles instead of 11x11. The circuitry should be done, but I still need to test the computer a bunch to make sure I didn't forget anything.

I have parts of a new assembler lying around but I'm going to wait on that until the GCC backend is done because I would prefer to model the assembler around its output than model its output around the assembler, y'know? whatever the GCC beast needs I shall provide
the linker will need Mego or KZhang's help because I don't know shit about the Golly API

Was thinking about busses again and decided it would be much nicer if for receiving we just had an interrupt vector we could set
RCV <address to jump to>, <address to store the received word>, <bus number>
Although probably not a full word, it should receive one octet at a time
