Uh oh. For at least the third time today, I feel as though I'm not smart enough for the task at hand. There are four open mod spots, but I only get three votes. If I vote for my top 3, I can't support the fourth place, which is going to be the most hotly contested. But if I don't vote for my top three, there's a chance everyone else will do the same
plus, my top three are a three-way tie
well, actually, never mind
turns out I just needed to type out my thoughs

@DaaaahWhoosh And that's why the election is going to be extremely interesting.
I - and, I'm assuming, pretty much everyone else - feel the same way.

right now, 155 people voted, so to be elected, one needs 31 votes on the first round.
I suppose a lot of people will "simply" choose the top 3 candidates in various order.... so they may be qualified directly on the first round
but then, in such scenario, the fight for the 4th place will be unpredictable
or people will think about that and vote typically for 2 from the 3 and another one (bowlturner or Serban were the stronger contender, closely followed by AoC and Michael). The "fourth" position would be more clear... but careful that the votes on the 2 from 3 is equally distributed... otherwise the third one gets lost
for those who like maths... if we sum the final scores of the 10 candidates and we use the ratio of individual/sum are a representation of first vote choice. For currently about 160 voters, we would get 6.6 votes for me (lowest) and 27.8 votes for HDE (highest)
if those values can be used, no-one gets elected at the first round

I want to compile some stats on the candidates. Would you mind telling me your nationality?
So far, unless mistaken, I have: HDE: US, Tim: UK, Monica: US, bowlturner: US, Serban: Romanian/US?, Michael: US? AoC: UK, James: US, Monty: ??, Samuel: US, Daaaah: US, JD: Polish/US? I don't know for the others..?
I'll check the profiles in case it shows there...

Do I have to somehow confirm my top three picks? Or just selecting people is enough?

10:29 AM
selecting them is enough

11:05 AM
184 voted so far
you select them, so long as it's showing at the right you're good to go
you can change them at any time before tuesday 20:00 utc

@bilbo_pingouin well you got me right :)
201 Constituents.

@bilbo_pingouin JDługosz is in Texas, according to his profile; Serban's in Washington, DC and Monty's in Australia (again, profile).
AndyD273 is in Michigan, Aify is in Canada, Jim2B is in Indianapolis, I think Anders is in Sweden, and I don't know about the others.
All of this is just from profiles, though, not from word of mouth.

5:50 PM
@bilbo_pingouin UK is correct for me :)

3 hours later…
8:57 PM
210 Constituents.

2 hours later…
10:39 PM
213 constituents
I checked the profiles later and got
USA AndyD273 profile
xx Riley Santos
xx fi12
USA DaaaahWoosh profile
USA James profile
xx Anders Gustafson
USA Serban Tanasa profile RO origin?
USA bowlturner
F bilbo_pingouin
S Michael Kjörling ?
USA Monica Cellio
CA Aify
AUS Monty Wild
USA HDE 226868
USA Jim2B profile
UK ArtOfCode profile
USA JDługosz profile
UK TimB profile
USA Samuel profile
So I have no indication for the 3 lowest reputation candidates... For Michael, the name plus a website in .se, seems to indicate Sweden
however from the profiles, I get where people live, not necessarily the origin.
I remember reading that Serban is native Romanian. And I think JD has some Polish origin... well it's not that important, I just don't want to offend anyone :)

11:19 PM
in their Q&A, fi12 indicate that they are in EST... still leaves a few countries...
