I suppose the idea to channel reports into the main chatroom was considered? My concern is that a separate room with nothing but a report once or twice a day might not have much attention from the users. (And without users around, the reports don't have much effect.)

The main chat room has minimal activity. If the spam volume is medium to high I didn't want it to dominate main room

FWIW I do tend to deal with a fair amount of spam myself (I normally see it in the mod queue after it gets 1 flag but before it hits 6), particularly in the UK morning.
