@cazc_941 also, for companies not being able to afford folks, just an FYI that government programs can help with that. In Nova Scotia at least, there's a program where if companies hire students they government will cover half the salary provided they're paid between $15 - $20 an hour. It might only apply to software, not sure, but programs like that can allow people to get experience while still getting paid, without smaller companies getting the shaft.

Q: How to disable HUD transparency?

UI doesn't scale based on resolution and HUD is relatively small already in 1920 x 1080, let alone in 4K and crosshair in particular is difficult to see. Having non-transparent HUD would help playing at high resolutions.

@Arperum I thought that putting the question to the title would be enough. HUD always is smaller in higher resolutions, I have nothing to prove. I have compared 800 x 600 and 1920 x 1080 for instance. HUD is extremely tiny in 4K and this screenshot would be better for demonstration purposes.

Black Mesa isn't a 1:1 port. They have tweaked everything from level layouts to damage values, enemy placement and movement speed. I will certainly play Black Mesa after the original though.
