12:00 AM
or we can do some before friday, but it might be harder to get together at the same time

12:11 AM
I want to complete all of my milestones on my Warlock before doing them on my Hunter.
I still can't believe I got five exotics last night.

@Yuuki I try to do that as well, other than nightfall and raid, of course
I usually do milestones on my highest power character first
that way I'm raising everyone's base power a little
this week I've been trying to work on all of the weapon quests on my hunter

12:33 AM
@Chippies Not yet. :(

Full disclosure I didn't read it, but that's because I listened to it so Austin read it to me on their podcast feed

@Fluttershy do you have the Rat King's Crew though? If you get it, we can do the whole thing all 3 of us together

12:47 AM
@Chippies I haven't started the Titan quests yet to get the Crew. :(

@Fluttershy it doesn't take that long to do them, if you have time to play at all
I finished 3 different weapon quests today and I didn't even play that much
by finished I mean I did the actual quest parts, not the parts that get me the weapon

That, is cool.

@Frank Mew Mew!
that said. looks like the contents are well fit so it would be easier to carry than a toolbox

@Memor-X The shaft is a regular hammer, too.

@Frank oh cool, i didn't notice that

12:55 AM
Neither did I, until I saw the tools pulled out, and I was wondering where the hammer came from.

1:09 AM
@Frank Oh dang, that's amamzing

Q: Steering deadzone

SkawangI got a Logitech F310 controller from one of my friends recently. So I plugged it in and ran project cars. The main problem I noticed right off the bat was the steering deadzone despite having it turned to zero in the game. I downloaded the Logitech software and the deadzone was set to zero but...

Q: What does 'Connecting to "text":"server.enter_the_portal"' mean?

Nathan MillsWhen going through the /tutorial in Realm of the Mad God, it says 'Connecting to "text":"server.enter_the_portal"' in blue when entering the Kitchen level of the tutorial. What does that message mean?

3:43 AM
@Memor-X One of the BotW series Amiibos.

@Yuuki but it looks way too big
aren't Amiibos small figures on a disk?

It's a special amiibo
I want one tbh
But yeah they typically are
This one is atypical
I mean they have plush amiibos
As in wool Yoshi and poochi

@Unionhawk those ones i sorta get because of Woolly World but they are still the same size

@Unionhawk I got one.
I also have BotW Zelda.

I have wedding Bowser
But guardian is pretty god tier too
I also want Metroid
Because squiiiiishy

user15026
4:02 AM
@Memor-X Poochy yes but there is a bigger sized wooly Yoshi

Love to spontaneously decide to install Windows 10

@TimStone was someone using Windows 8?

Windows 7

lol at the soccer stadium negotiation stuff happening
The county is already responsible for 2 other really expensive stadium deals so they're all really hesitant to allow these things
There's private money for the stadium itself but the team is asking for road and parking garage money on the order of 75m

@TimStone did Windows 7 get forced upgrades too?
@Unionhawk this the Russia VS Australia finals match thing?

4:18 AM
No this is Cincinnati trying to join MLS
One of the requirements for new teams is you must have your own dedicated stadium
FC Cincinnati currently plays at the University of Cincinnati's football stadium which has proven to be more than adequate for even exceptional crowds like vs Crystal Palace

@Unionhawk but it's not their dedicated stadium is it so if they want to join they have to build another

And that's where we find ourselves yes
I feel like I'm on board with these things because it's in a part of town I currently go to so wider roads would be cool
And that is all they want so it's not like we're handing Mike Brown a ransom check to keep his team here
But idk, I'm not a resident of the county anyway so
It's also already a part of town that's both too far and too expensive for me to live so I'm not personally worried about getting priced out
yoko taro: hello would you like everything on your burger? me: ne'er a tomato it's bad jokes o'clock, friends, and i'm wide awake
cc @Yuuki

I feel like I'm missing something.

Yoko Taro did Nier Automata

Ah.

4:30 AM
I need to buy that game

@Unionhawk you need to get a console if you don't have one. i hear the PC version is still crap and unpatched

Bah and or no
In any case if this is true then Yoko Taro is actually the greatest man to ever be a game director:
The man behind the mask

@Unionhawk lets hope he doesn't get ruined by Square

Hm, should I read The Cybernetic Tea Shop next or Rogue Affair, decisions decisions

(Also I think that The Cybernetic Tea Shop is just such a GOOD book title)

@Ash is rogue affair DnD themed?

@Avery I don't dissaprove =p

I'm collecting old selfies and such and the albums are just great
Being able to split and put notes etc is amazing
I've no idea where I stored my selfies from ~2014 tbh
Snapchat is 2016+, google photos is june 2017+
I don't think that I used facebook too

9:21 AM
Google + maybe?

some info if you're having trouble refunding SWBF2EA
also at around the 8-9 minute point the whole loot box is explained with a 1950's scientific study

protip, ea is never going to give you money back
@Memor-X lootboxes as skinner devices?

@GodEmperorDune oh but they do for Australian Customers. you see Steam got into trouble with the ACCC here because it's against the law to deny a reasonable refund which is why Steam allows refunds if you didn't play so many hours
so yeh EA tries to stop Australians for getting a refund they better know Australian Consumer Law to argue the point that those who are requesting a refund are not entitled to one

@Memor-X they made that just for aussies?

@GodEmperorDune i think it's for everyone because it's easier but i remember Steam getting a please explain from the ACCC for it's refusal to offer refunds
think also there was a similar thing going on between Valve and the the UK about refund refusal too
@GodEmperorDune yep
we Aussies might get the shit end of the stick when it comes to prices, internet and dangerous animals but by god if we get screwed out of our money we are dam well getting a refund

9:59 AM
@GodEmperorDune And I'm fairly sure also because of the EU

Yes, the EU was also wtf

yeh i thought there was a second but i thought it was just the UK

Wait, the UK acting like it's part of the EU? When did that happen
@Arperum ooooh nice

@KevinvanderVelden Yes! very nice.

10:10 AM
@Arperum yeh i saw it and i just saw the SidAlpha Video on it too

"De video kan niet afspelen als een adblocker actief is." Thank you adblocker!

Ya well, that site is not the best newssite ever, they were just the first to bring this news, by now it can also be found on higher quality newssites.

@KevinvanderVelden here's a video that adblocker shouldn't stop

@Memor-X Is the selected timepoint relevant?

I was indeed being serious in thanking the adblocker
@Arperum yeah, patreon time =p

10:12 AM
@Arperum ahh no, sorry. i'll get one

Nah, it's fine. It's just that you did give a timepoint :p

@Arperum you mean before when i said about 8-9 minute point? because that was for a different video

@Memor-X No, your linked oneboxed url has a timeframe in it.

@Arperum oh shit, didn't notice that. i just copied the link from youtube and thought the resume was session/cookie based when i went to get an expect timed link

insidegamer.nl/nieuws/130260/… (use Chrome translate, works pretty well, I feel)
And you might be able to read standaard.be/cnt/dmf20171115_03189111 for free if you got a throwaway email address you can use
yeah, you need to create an account, but if you do you can read it for free

10:43 AM
lol, star trek DS9 where o brien debugs a software ACL problem by tinkering with the hardware

I have no idea how computers in star trek are supposed to work "Can't log in? Oh you just move these two slabs of crystal between slots"
Are those crystals just entire programs? Why is there a debug program next to the regular secured program
Are they bits of logic? Then why are they so huge? And why are there only a few dozen at most for a door

maybe they are massive NAND gates

Then they should instead just use 1950s technology. It's smaller

Isolinear Chips i believe they are called, they are sorta like futuristic punch cards so altering the matter of the chips alters the programming

10:49 AM
Then why is there a debug program sitting unused next to the security software that anyone with physical access can change? Did all the pentesters get killed in world war 3?

like with all the shit they get up do one has to wonder why having programming code that needs to be manufactured was such a good idea

i think only TNG was supposed to use isolinear chips, voyager had some fancy neural things

Voyager also had isolinear chips in bits (of the computers)

@GodEmperorDune i thought the neural link thing was just with that shuttle that tried to take Paris into a Particle Fountain

@Memor-X no, the chips were alive

10:50 AM
The neural gelpacks were just to transfer signals from one point to another (and somehow improve efficiency?)

one time they got a computer virus and gave the system a fever to fight it off
oh, i see

Also the macrovirus thing that infected the gelpacks and made them grow insect-sized viruses

@KevinvanderVelden yeh if i recall the gel packs act like the ship's nervous system, sorta like the next step up from fiber optic cabling like when the ship was split into those timelines and Chakotay could pass between them
@KevinvanderVelden no the Macrovirus could do that itself. it's just that it infected the gel packs in the replicators by getting into the transport buffer when they beamed the Doctor back

@Memor-X yeah, the macrovirus made the gelpacks grow things (viruses don't replicate themselves, they make other things make the virus)
Also how the fuck are gel packs sending electric signals faster then lasers in transferring signals

@KevinvanderVelden because they are NEUROgel

10:57 AM
@KevinvanderVelden no idea. i just assumed thats what the gel packs were given Janeway's explanation for fixing the time fractured ship

and umm, tachyons

@Memor-X this doesn't really have anything specific to do with the time fractured ship thing. This is just a general "Who thought it was a good idea to replace lasers with neurons for signal transfer?"

@GodEmperorDune oh yeh, because accidentally messing with stuff that messes with time is a good idea already
@KevinvanderVelden oh, well i guess a Vulcan

@Memor-X the time patrol or w/e were a pretty badass group of villains

Neurons are slow as fuck, lasers in current fibre optics are.. what, 2/3rd of c?

11:00 AM
@GodEmperorDune the Krenim? the ones doing time base genocide to fix their fallen civilization and were responsible for the Year of Hell which never actually happened

@Memor-X yeah, i liked those guys
maybe second only to the hunters

@GodEmperorDune yeh they were good. for a moment there i thought you might have been referring to Braxton

@Memor-X nah braxton was a tool
they tried to pull a star trek IV and it wasn't as successful
weird to see sarah silverman as a regular actress though

@GodEmperorDune yeh, that World War 2 simulation episode was probably the best one with them
especially with the Klingons fighting the Nazi's
@GodEmperorDune never saw that one. i assume some guy from the future recruited Kirk and Spock to stop some big bad and the big bad just turned out to be future guy's future self?

@Memor-X its one of the best films from TOS
they have to go back in time because reasons, so they end up in modern day (1980s) san francisco
it is pretty funny

11:05 AM
With the "Hello computer" on the mouse bit?

@GodEmperorDune i've only seen the TNG ones and the Abrams-"lets destroy the Enterprise in every movie"-verse
because we never get tired of seeing it get torn up every time Kirk gets a big mission

@Memor-X original star trek 1 is painfully slow, but decent
star trek 2 pretty good
star trek 3 slow and kinda meh
star trek 4, excellent
star trek 5 - wtf
star trek 6, excellent
star trek 6 has some crossovers in tng, voyager, maybe ds 9 as well because they were filming them all around the same time

my dad has Wrath of Khan on a pirated copy disk my mum picked up from a garage sale but never saw it myself

that's 2, it's worth watching

11:11 AM
First Contact was the first Star Trek film i saw as a kid. i remember getting scared when Borg was defeated
like how her skin rotted freaked me out

yeah, mine too
like i saw parts of the other ones on tv and such, but first contact was the first one i watched straight through
and we don't talk about generations, lol

@GodEmperorDune generations was that one with the time wave which caused the enterprise's saucer section to crash, everyone dies but Picard meets Kirk, they return to when Picard failed to stop it, change the result and the saucer section crashes but the key characters don't die, right?

@Memor-X yeah
i remember a lot of horseback riding in that one too

@Memor-X just a lot of redshirts I assume?

@GodEmperorDune yeh i didn't watch it fully, i was on my computer
@KevinvanderVelden when Picard met Kirk? no apparently Kirk had retired but in Picard's time he was already dead

11:16 AM
yeah it was like a place outside of time or something

More like, saucer still crashes but only redshirts die

@KevinvanderVelden no it crashed but didn't disentegrate

Food time o/

like Scotty was frozen for 70 or so years and he looked old when the Enterprise found him
i assume by TNG Spock and Scotty were the only people left alive from TOS

@Memor-X correct
though i thought there was another cameo in there somewhere
sulu is in a voyager flashback

11:18 AM
@KevinvanderVelden what is a red short anyway? i thought it was just a reference to the old uniforms which were all red rather than red and black

tuvok served on sulu's ship
@Memor-X in TOS it meant ensign
and they usually died on the away mission

@GodEmperorDune yeh that was then some parasite was trying to make Tuvok remember letting a girl fall to her death but his memories kept going back to when he served with Sulu

right

@GodEmperorDune ahhh ok, i thought you might have been referring to command staff like Riker and i remembered that he didn't die the second time

@Memor-X no they changed the uniforms' meaning in TNG
red was security intern in TOS, but security (and engineering) wore gold in TNG

11:23 AM
@GodEmperorDune why do people call TOS the Red Shirt era. was there some kind of joke or meme about Ensigns then?
like being cannon fodder or something?

@Memor-X yes
they usually died

@GodEmperorDune i guess Harry Kim and Wesley Crusher must be glad they were in a different era

I actually have every single Star Trek movie on DVD
And i've seen them all

Q: Is necessary to do all the story for every character?

MalkevI unlocked all map with my main, and made the story all again for a second character, but I'm tired of this. Is really necessary to do all the story again for third time?

Like a decade ago, I bought the entire collection of Star Trek movies which were out, that was like 10 movies or something

11:26 AM
@Nzall so you're missing abrams-boom-boom-verse

@Memor-X I also have those
and I've watched them
I also have TOS on DVD, but I haven't seen like 90% of it yet
entirely different time of cinematography, so they're different to watch from current shows
less special effects, loads more dialogue and informed events, slower pace, fight scenes with less extravagant choreography

@Nzall obvious they used toys on sticks for the space scenes

@Nzall yeah i can't speak for watching all of TOS the tv shows, but the movies are worthwhile
(most of them)

I think the main reason to watch them was the social criticism of the era, as well as the historical value of the many firsts for TV: first interracial kiss on TV, first non-caucasian woman on TV,...

first open racism to a character who was an alien
come on Mccoy, there;s no need to speak to Spock like that. just call him a filthy orc behind closed doors

11:40 AM
@Memor-X I think the racism was an intentional part of McCoy's personality, to show that A) the future isn't perfect; B) racism will still exist in the future and C) racists will still be able to make it to high-ranking positions if they're competent enough. Gene Roddenberry didn't want the plot to come from conflict between the crew, so they made it so there was tension, but not conflict
Also, I have never seen a Star Trek series fully. Which ones do you recommend to start with?

Q: Platform games for PS4 versus xBox One?

user16520How do puzzle-platform/platform games (such as Portal, The Talos Principle, Mario titles) on the Xbox One compare to those available for the PS4 Pro in terms of number of titles and quality? Does one console have the upper hand in this regard? What are of some of these consoles' standout platfo...

@Nzall TNG is best imo
teh first season is pretty skippable, second season you might want an episode or two
but after that it gets great

I've only seen the first season and as far as I can tell that's the reason everyone hates Wesley Crusher

@ToxicFrog wesley crusher only gets more annoying as time goes on
but first season is by far the worst season of TNG

Q: Possible rewards from Daily Hit

Mathias711In both the current Pocket Mine version (3) and the original I played, there was some sort of daily bonus, in the form of a Daily Hit. In both versions there are three options to choose from, and your rewards are based on the choice you make (based on luck). In the original game, I remember that ...

@GodEmperorDune he was fantastically annoying already in S1 which had like four different "Wesley Crusher, child supergenius, saves the Enterprise" episodes
Possibly more
So knowing it gets worse is not exactly filling me with enthusiasm~

12:28 PM
he is like the walking definition of privilege

Was that the character played by wil wheaton?

@KevinvanderVelden yes

Wheaton still autoblocks people who say "Shut up Wesley" to him on Twitter. It's a meme by this point.

@Nzall hue

@GodEmperorDune after Riker grows is beard
shaven Riker looks strange
@ToxicFrog but one of them was when Data was Drunk
despite being told off (that he can't get drunk) he still acted drunk
but yeh at first Wesley was like Mary Sue

12:42 PM
@Memor-X yeah they ignore that ep almost entirely because it doesn't make any sense in the rest of the canon

@GodEmperorDune it's still funny seeing Data get drunk after getting seduced by Tasha

well yeah

just thinking on it. Discovery hasn't had Q turn up right?

does Q show up in ds9 or is Q only in TNG and voyager?

@Memor-X fortunately no
@GodEmperorDune I think also in DS9?

12:49 PM
nice, something to look forward to

@KevinvanderVelden you didn't like Q?

I find Q hilarious but it means that there basically is 0 plot development

@KevinvanderVelden yeh, i suppose in story arcs him turning up is like anime filler

Basically

and i suppose that Discovery is set before Voyager so no "more integrated into society" Seven

12:54 PM
My god yessss
I forgot that my bank allows me to withdraw money with QR code
I AM NO LONGER BROKE

@Avery hooray! being a bum sucks

@Memor-X entirely different timeline as well

Now isbank needs to support nfc payments and I'll not need to carry around my debit

1:13 PM
I really enjoyed Discovery, although it took a while to get into

It is still going on =p

Yes I know, but there's a gap for some reason
It felt like they had to spend a good few episodes just establishing the setting, characters, plot devices
It felt very clunky and a bit forced
Once they'd got it over with though it got much better
Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Exploration

I've started watching Bojack Horseman and it's good.

@fredley /s/Exploration/Communism/

1:32 PM
@Avery Fully Automated Luxury Gay Communistic Space Exploration
Why not both?
@Memor-X Also if the spore drive was set before voyager wouldn't voyager have just been "Oh crap, we're on the other side of the galaxy, we need a volunteer for some DNA injections and some spores"

@StrixVaria Yes, it is
Where are you up to?

@KevinvanderVelden it's an exploratory vessel within a FALGSC society

Seems legit

I mean it is

But is it?

1:42 PM
Falgsc sounds cool

@Unionhawk Is it really communism though?

@fredley Princess Carolyn just got Bojack a deal to play Mr. Peanutbutter in a movie about stealing the Hollywood D, which I need to not just be a joke and to actually turn into plot.

In Discovery [SPOILERS -------->] there is a Will. In a fully communist society there is no property

It can be communism and still have items of personal significance I'd say
And the spoiler is definitely that

It's closer but the revolution hasn't happened then

1:44 PM
@fredley Star Trek society is not real communism though. There is no way that American TV broadcasting would have shown a show with a real communistic society in the middle of the cold war without the society being doomed to fail

I don't know I'm merely a novice in these things

it has some aspects of communism, but it's not fully communist

In England, you don't say "I'm going now". You slap your knees and say "Right!" which means "I should've left two hours ago but was too polite to interrupt you." https://twitter.com/keeperoftheday/status/925462401952112640

@Nzall It's post scarcity, but Starfleet itself is highly militaristic (in structure) and hierarchical.

We're post scarcity now tbh

1:54 PM
I mean, it is literally the military

@StrixVaria Almost nothing in Misery Horse is just a joke

@fredley except your face

@fredley In pretty much the entire old series, all we see of the society is Starfleet. We don't see anything about the larger civilian society

@Unionhawk Ok, post-capitalist (since I don't see how capitalism can exist in a society with free-energy devices and replicators)

That is true, it is a system that relies on real or artificial scarcity

1:55 PM
@Nzall In Discovery [SPOILERS------->] we see some miners, which felt a bit odd. In such an advanced society, why are people still involved in the digging up of shit from the ground?

@fredley I've noticed, some of the funniest moments so far have been references to things that happened episodes ago that I thought were throwaway.

@StrixVaria Yes, this

https://t.co/hDKPozjR4N

@fredley because they don't yet have the EMH M1 to do it for them

@fredley So they're miners as in literally manually digging rocks out of the ground? or miners as in they work in a mine but probably use advanced machines to do most of the mining for them

1:57 PM

Heh, Go the Fuck to Sleep is on sale on google play books

@Nzall The way they're portrayed implies they work underground
Also they're literally referred to as miners

1 message moved from This Is Fine

Labor would still exist but would that labor be wage-labor or piece-labor in a post-capitalist society?
I would think no

1:59 PM
The thing is that people will still want something to do
