Q: What is Rumble?

There is a setting on options called "rumble". When I turned it off I noticed no difference in gameplay. What is the point of this option?

@badp Yeah, looking closer, it's almost certainly just made with cinema gram.

(Which, if you don't know, basically is an app that lets you 'paint' out a portion of the photo that you want to animate.)

@badp A lot of it comes down to the skill of the user. :P

For one thing, even a microscopically shaky hand throwing off the alignment of the moving bits can make it super disorienting.

Best used with a tripod tbqh.

@badp Now, I might be misremembering how a *.gif is structured, but I'm pretty certain you'd get absolutely no benefit out of that.

I mean, the theory makes sense on the surface, but if I'm not mistaken it has no technical backing (in the gif format).

@FEichinger There's significant stylistic benefit, if the user executes properly, which is the idea.

like, if you use a tripod, and have a shot where one person is literally frozen to one frame but the other person is dancing, you can end up with a fairly cool effect that you can't get without using something like cinemagram.

Mainly because I've never tried.
