@badp Reminds me of Ninja Fishing, which might be what you've played.

@FAE TOM BAKER OMG

Salvaged crate 50. Best. Find. Ever.

@Unionhawk Eh?

@OrigamiRobot TF2

@Unionhawk Oh, I thought you were talking about MC

9:14 PM
@Unionhawk I hate you so much

@Unionhawk I hate you so much
(phrase cleverly swiped from @badp)

@OrigamiRobot Yes, that's been happening for ages
Having read it as "Answer's Warm" I can't read it any other way.

Answers, warm sounds like a not very good alternate name for Seasoned Advice
@GraceNote If you can pick it up you probably need it!
Noooooo jQuery 1.9 breaks something on our site

@fredley I had that thought when we first came up with the name, but I grew out of it.

lol
so I'm trying a weird Boston spy combo with the face blaster and bonk
I come for the initial mid fight with some boost from long range scatterguns
then activate bonk and first thing I do, I jump
I walk the slowest bonk ever and find myself on the back of an enemy medic
I am destroyed by a rocket an instant after shooting the medic and hitting with all the pellets
with a random crit
I apologized
...then I disconnected because we were getting rolled over

> This is called ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOR. You know Jeffery Dahmer or Adolf Hitler? They had no problem with ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOR. And when people are annonymous online with no responsibility, they become ANTI-SOCIAL ASSHATS.
Hahaha. I'm so glad he ragequit UX
Closing questions = literally hitler

@BenBrocka I like especially the part where a person with a diamond using his real name is anonymous and without responsibility

Q: How many blue coins are in each area of Super Mario Sunshine?

Mike WelshHow many blue coins are in each area of Super Mario Sunshine? Is there an indicator or tally of how many blue coins are remaining in each area, and overall in the game?

Well he was talking about random SO users (10K on MSO only) not mods, but still.

What does "responsibility" even mean here? Does it mean "with people is in face-punching range"?

Given his personality I can only assume "Responsibility" means "give Tyler $50"

9:34 PM

where "being responsible" means "being punched in the face for closing my question"?

We have all failed him by not giving him $50 or something

hah. Question title: "Okay losers, listen here"
> How can you down-vote this already! You can't even read that fast! – Tyler Langan 11 mins ago

Also I don't think he has any idea what anti-social means

@FAE * - *

9:36 PM
> "Okay losers, let's have a constructive discussion" is something that doesn't usually tend to work. I leave it to you to figure out why.

@BenBrocka aha! I guessed right!
> If this was real life and I could look each of you in the eye, none of this bullshit would be happening.

@BenBrocka You played ZX Advent, right?

"if this was real life and I could look each of you in the eye [I would be punching it so hard], none of this bullshit would be happening."
Clearly this is what social behaviour is like.

@GraceNote I've 100%'d both ZXes

@BenBrocka Alright. How do you feel about time manipulation opponents? Most games, when an enemy "slows time down for everyone else", it causes the game itself to run slower and you operate more sluggish. However, here, Chronoforce's time slow, instead of affecting your perceived time frame, instead makes him and his attacks run at a faster pace. Which style do you like more?

9:39 PM
@GraceNote Vastly prefer Chronoforce's time slow

So did I. Especially since it did actually slow enemies when you used it, so no matter what the situation was, your time reference was always the same, right?

It's a Mega man game after all; the game difficulty is supposed to be from real difficulty. Making it hard to control is fake difficulty
@GraceNote Yeah, loved it as a power too. Like I said, your controls never change, you never lose that flow

@BenBrocka Indeed, indeed!

...though as a debuff against human opponents it can be fun to actually slow their input (though since it's not the NPC, one of you will HAVE to move faster than the other, so it's not the same)
Valentine can do that in Skullgirls, it's very mean

I was going to but SimCity Deluxe for iPad, but then I found out that despite bing $7 EA still filled it with ads
and as a bonus it sounds like they added a lot of ads after initially selling it without. Trickery!

9:43 PM
Yeah all iOS EA games do that

@BenBrocka Yeah, human vs. human it is tricky. Just like invisibility is tricky.

It's worse in freaking DEAD SPACE when there are goddamn ads on the main menu. As if it weren't heard enough to be immersed with the weird-ass tablet controls
I wish they'd make another ZX game :(
ZX Advent on Expert was so fun

They kinda setup for one, too.

Majorly

But... not even news of any.

9:45 PM
But capcom doesn't seem to give a crap about Mega man anymore
Just a billion fighting games and Resident Evil, occasionally a Monster Hunter
I just replayed ZX advent again recently too, since I lost my old cartridge

Ouch

I think I lost one of my MM Zero carts too, along with the DS lite :/
I think it was 3 or 4, one of the best ones, of course

...how?

The carts were in the DS lite and I lost it somewhere

I gathered that, it was more "How did you lose the DS Lite", in a very sad tone.

9:49 PM
I had 100%'d all of them, but still. I really liked the MM Zero games too
Though the first was sort of weird. It kinda tried and failed (but not THAT hard) at doing the Metroidvania ZX eventually got right

I liked a good amount of the atmosphere and missions in the first, though.
The Cyber Elf system in the first three kinda bothered me at times, though.
"Here, have this rather interesting system of enhancements. Oh, but you can't actually use them if you want to look good. Sorry."

10:07 PM
Cyber elves were screwed up until 3 where you at least got Satelite elves
Who the hell designed sentient, helpless, adorable critters that you kill to get powerups
That seems like the sort of shit Weil should be doing not hunters

Raven DreamerAs I was fighting my way through a Dominion Prison Ship, I found a single, named prisoner. What is this referencing?

Q: How to take a screenshot in SimCity?

LouisHow can I take a screenshot? When I press Print Screen to take a screenshot while in the game, the image on my clipboard is the Windows Desktop.

Q: I need to be able to press a button multiple times but only have one output

RaptroI want to have a button that when pressed ,not once, but five times and then output a signal. What kind of gate or contraption should I use?

Q: Who works in medium value commercial properties?

LouisI have some $$ (medium-wealth) buildings that are closed or closing due to a lack of workers. Yet, of my 10,652 $$ workers, 3,205 are unemployed and 152 are commuting out. This confuses me because I assumed $$ workers would work in $$ comercial buildings.

Though in all (I think) of them if you 100% the game without using any elves you can play "ultimate" mode with all of them active or some crap. But I much prefer ZX/ZXA's system of upgrades
Mostly because they replaced murdering small animals with equipable parts and consumable, non-living objects

@BenBrocka I remembered it in Zero 4 but not much in the others, but it's been a while.

Zero 4 completely elimates consumable elves I think. 3 had equipable elves and consumable ones

@BenBrocka It did, but you had a limit that at least let you use them without affecting your score.
(With Ultimate Mode allowing you to use full power and trigger every single effect)

10:14 PM
I don't think satellite elves ever effected your score, just consumable elves

I thought consumeable elves had a permanent ALWAYS KILLS your score, while satellites and one-time-usables just dinged you for the stage in question.
But I think 3 may've been different on that point, regarding satellites.

IIRC consumable elves dinged your score majorly for one level and slightly per elf for all following missions

Since they also had the Cyberspace that put all consumed elves in active, but had no effect on satellites.

Cyberspace also murdered your score IIRC didn't it?

I can't remember

10:16 PM
I have no idea what the hell y'all are talking about, but this is one of the best conversations I've read in awhile.

Pretty much anything other than being an untouchable badass hurt your score really. I was okay with that for the most part though
'cause you're not really Zero if you're not an untouchable badass

I like the reasoning behind it, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The score system basically is designed purely to guide you to play as untouched and unarmed, but throws all these widgets that would make the game more fun, but you can't do that because that's apparently not how you're supposed to play.

Not unarmed; you can equip chips and use EX skills to your heart's content
But the damage threshold was a bit excessive. I think you get 3 hit points before you lose S rank, which is one or less hits

@BenBrocka Yeah, it's not quite "BUSTER ONLY!", thankfully. Plus EX Skills were fun.
@BenBrocka "Untouched" is like, the major qualifier here and the one I'm perfectly fine with, haha.
I did have a bit of a beef with the Electric EX skills in Zero 4, though.

Was that wheni t was a downward thrust?

10:23 PM
Tractor Shot was cool, conceptually, and utterly destroys certain opponents like the Glass Cannon, but it was utterly worthless on any of the bosses actually weak to Lightning. And neither such boss actually was properly on the ground for the dash stab.

They changed which sword attack was which element almost every time

@BenBrocka Naw, that was Zero 3.
@BenBrocka I'd've liked this more if Fire wasn't the uppercut in EVERY BLASTED ENTRY.

Speaking of annoying design decisions; in the original ZX you're punished for hitting the bosses' weak spot. To the point the difficulty is in actively avoiding the extremely easy to hit weakspots

@BenBrocka Purprill Mandroid.
Just... ARGH.
ZX had Lurerre, though, so all is forgiven~

Grr. Stupid snowfall has the buses all messed up. Wonder when I'll get home tonight?

10:30 PM
Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 crossover? o_O

@JasonBerkan It'd been snowing here (to no avail, as it is too warm for the snow to stick) for the past hour or so, and then you opened your mouth and now it's not snowing anymore...

@GraceNote I think I had the most trouble not shooting the Mole

@BenBrocka He was the other pain.
You know what boss I liked? Protectos the Goreroid.

protectross was easy

@GraceNote Do you want it to snow?

10:31 PM
He was, but conceptually awesome and the style of the fight was good.

Oh, and I loved the charged blaster/slice kills on bosses in MMZ/ZX

@JasonBerkan I like snow.

Yeah, it was an interesting fight

@GraceNote I like snow until February. Then I am sick of it.

@JasonBerkan In my defense, my commute involves going down the stairs.

10:33 PM
Bifrost was my favorite giant-guy-who-takes-up-half-the-screen though
I wish it was more practical to actually play as him, he was fun to use. Though almost totally useless

I tried to maximize using him as much as I could. It just... didn't take often enough.

@GraceNote I keep reading about Yahoo!s "no working from home policy" and wishing whats her face and Jeff would debate.

He's useful in uoroborus

Coincidentally, I feel the same way about Ice in ZX Advent that I do about Electric in Zero 4.

to avoid falling in the spikes while easily crushing everything else. And by useful I mean, playable, as opposed to useless
Thetius (however you spell that) was alright, just like model L
good single hit damage for normal targets

10:35 PM
Thetis, and yeah, but that's all you had.

aoelus for the win though

Vulturon will always have a place in my heart, even if he's more utility for your own usage.

And Atlas was the most useless, I remmeber using model F much more in ZX
yeah, Vultron was awesome, just not to use

@BenBrocka I thought that my first run through, until I started to realize how absolutely ridiculous punching everything was.

Like all the bosses, really. Only Buckfire and Argoyle were useful in combat

10:36 PM
A fully charged shot was worthless, but, punching? THE BEST.

Punching is okay, but it's hard to time the green charge punches

@BenBrocka And Chronoforce. Ridiculous Chronoforce.

Chronoforce was ridiculous of course, though you only use him for the charged attack

And the completely guarded top.

Not that useful in most cases

10:38 PM
Hi guys! I'm your friendly local neighborhood GnomeSlice!

I found it just right just because a good number of attacks went from "Particularly annoying to dodge" to "HAHAHAHAHA".
Like that one particular attack of the final boss.

Yeah, I alwayhs used it on the super annoying attack all Mega men had when they went to half health
Really? I absolutely never used it against the final boss
Aoelus rips up form two, sharnak tears up form 1

"Yep. I'm just gonna sit here. Yep."
@BenBrocka I use Siarnaq for phase 1, then use a mixture of Aeolus, Chronoforce, and Model ZX for the second.
Mostly because damage tier ratings for ZX is absolutely ridiculous with time slow. I always liked the combo system in the Zero games, how it is actually implemented.

Aeolus does sooo much damage in the air and dodges just about all of his attacks with ease
Yeah, the combo thing is brilliant
I felt like god when I figured that out. I was using Zero wrong in MMX for ages

Oh, right, Hedgeshock. That was the last boss I was having trouble remembering.

10:41 PM
I never knew of priority until I looked up a ZX advent guide
she's worthless

@GraceNote - My backyard, for your pleasure: 1.bp.blogspot.com/-VqLW8HzCUqo/UUEEmKNmkHI/AAAAAAAADwI/…

And possibly one of the last pseudoroid bosses, too

I remember learning about the priority system back in the first Zero game, so I made a habit of learning all of them.

I got ZX first, I never even heard of MM zero uintil I saw it used in a game shop

@BenBrocka At least she's slightly less worthless than Rospark in any situation that does not include vines.

10:42 PM
And I proceeded to immediately buy one of each
right, rosepark

Q: How do I avoid Borderlands 2 servers that require DLC?

RetrosaurBy now, most players who have played BL2 have finished the main storyline and are pretty much visiting the other DLC. Q: Can I disable "cut scenes"?

They didn't like lightning in ZXA

@JasonBerkan That shovel looks exactly like mine.

Aside from Aeolus

@BenBrocka I could at least run around and shoot things with Hedgeshock, compared to Bifrost being too huge to even fit in certain areas.

10:43 PM
But you could stomp on things! And tail smash!

Tail smash was absolutely hilarious.

He should have had some sort of epic charge attack

@GraceNote It's from Home Depot - I imagine their stock is roughly the same throughout North America.

Did you find Ashe or Grey had better attacks? For the few that are different

@Lazers You are a terrible person

10:46 PM
Grey was better in all the enemy models but I preferred Ashe's Model A vastly.
Oh, and Ashe's model ZX is handier because uppercut is easier to link the combo

Really? Aside from the more powerful normal shot (very nice) she's a bit weaker in A. Reflect is pretty cool but lower damage, and the lock on (as if anyone used it) is a bit less useful
Was she the one with the uppercut? Uppercut was definitely better

@BenBrocka Having played Raystorm, I didn't much care about the impracticality of the lock on as much as I enjoyed using it.
@BenBrocka Yes, because Vent was the one with the uppercut while Aile got the rock stab.

@GraceNote lock on doesn't feel right in a Mega Man game

I better move my drunk body to my bed before i do something i will regret, nn people

@Blem You should stay and say stuff you may/may not regret.

> how to get them to fly
wow

...what

@fbueckert It's almost as if he put time into that.

@RonanForman Pretty sure he did.
Sadly, it's all useless effort.

11:05 PM
Oh, that's on a whiteboard.

Read-y, tap, taptap!

@RonanForman Boiler up to full power, chacoal supply sufficient

@fredley Kewl, mine is probably out by now.

@RonanForman All mine needs is apatite and dirt, and my quarries should provide enough so long as they don't get neglected for too long
@RonanForman I'm going to get into tree breeding though, looks like you can get cool stuff

I decided to watch the series finale of Battlestar Galactica tonight. All 3 parts.

11:18 PM
@pow have you seen the spy version of tap troupe? It's perfect.

Q: Do Chain Reaction and Infest Broodlings work together?

Oblivious SageIn the Heart of the Swarm campaign, you can give Kerrigan several abilities. The Chain Reaction ability causes Kerrigan's attacks to bounce to hit up to 5 enemies. The Infest Broodlings ability causes Kerrigan's attacks to place a temporary debuff on foes. If I take both abilities, will all 5 ...

That one?

Yeah

11:45 PM
I would play pool if I had that.
