@JuanManuel I dunno... I used to do a good job cleaning out the flag queue. But I wasn't very active with actually promoting the site. Since then we've had some very active users creating competitions, publishing blogs, videos etc....

also, promotion and blog posts, and all that can be done by the community in general... not necessarily a mod

Speaking of promotion I'm thinking of doing a subscriber drive for the YouTube channel, does anyone have any ideas for prizes we could give out?

Juan is right, @Oak - the major reason we're having elections (other than the whole 1 year thing) is because we need moderation, not promotion.

10kers can't delete non-answers, which are probably 95% of what I flag here

Promotion is also not entirely the job of moderators to begin with. At the least, it's not one of your necessary tasks as a moderator.

@RavenDreamer you have a point that one doesn't need to be a mod to drive promotion efforts. One only needs to be a mod to... well... moderate :) maybe it's just that people that do promote the site really show their investment and passion, so it makes sense to give them some trust.
