Which I believe is due to a combination of culture, and that it's easier to live there since you don't need to know English.

Q: How do I melt the Frozen Riddler Trophies?

@Pubby every time I play that game I get frustrated by the friendly AI. they built a game with a crazy realistic geological model, and can't be assed to make AI that's worth a damn, even though you spend 10 minutes on the region and 100 hours playing the damn game

I wish they'd make it open source or moddable, I'd build something better if I could.

I'm in a nostalgic mood today, when I found an old arcade machine of Karate Champ: After beating everyone to the 8th level and losing, I was thinking: Does this game ever end? Or this is a game like River-Raid that never ends?

Thing is, the AI... sure it's buggy, but dwarves are also pretty stupid. It's part of the game experience.

I don't buy status-bydesign as an excuse. I find these 'god games' frustrating when the AI is stupid.

The game is based on the principle that you can't tell it what you want with granularity. That's its appeal, really.

Exactly. If the dwarves did exactly what you wanted them to when you wanted them to, the game would be so easy it might as well be a sandbox.

well, you can give them credit for carefully and intentionally making the game just so broken that it's awesome, but I think it's more likely that they're just bad at writing AI.

Q: Why do skilled players in MW2 use weapons unlocked early on, instead of the later ones?

@agent86 I think you're giving them too little credit.

It is horrendously difficult to write any AI.

Especially if you have 100 dwarves and you still want the game to run at 50 Hz.

as someone who frequently writes efficient AI algorithms for a living, I'm aware of the challenges. if my only method of interacting with a system is filtered through an AI, it is my opinion that it should be a priority
