speaking of boxes

That seems so disorienting.

beats his previous setup:

Is that like a dozen alts?

yeah
that was back in the day when EvE online didn't allow software multiboxing
so he taped a bunch of mice together and used dowels to hit multiple keys on USB keypads

Q: What is the general release day for games in the Asian region?

jwaddellRelease day for retail games in the various regions usually follows the same pattern: Tuesdays in the US Thursdays in Australia Fridays in Europe Is there a regular release day for retail games in the Asian region? If so, what is it?

Q: What gameplay behaviors are random?

tenfourSC2 is a deterministic game in the sense that there is nothing left to chance. No units get a "20% chance to cause bonus" or anything like that. The same keystrokes will always yield exactly the same result. But there are some elements which have an element of randomness. The importance of this ...

This was interesting until he revealed the game was 100% luck based
Although he put a lot of work into it.

psh, just buy an N64, they cost like what, free now?
...or do they cost $1M because they're no longer made

You could get one for about $20

how about a GCN

Probably about the same

11:10 PM
hmm, same price-ish

it just depends where you buy it from

like the controller for gamecube

If you go on ebay they tend to be more expensive then in-store

really?

Yeah, depending on the shop.

11:26 PM
Also, @mana, I need to agree. I was equally shocked when I hear JAck Layton died.

@Wipqozn Professor Layton died? :O Oh wait, that's Hershal Layton.

facepalm...

Someone suffering from cancer dies is shocking news?
I'd be some mix of saddened or depressed
unless it was like Dick Cheney, then I'd be elated

@Powerlord I'm a terrible person, but I found that amusing.
@NickT To be honest, I was unaware he had cancer. I haven't been keeping up with politics as of late.
@mana: out of curiousty, what was your favorite weapon in bastion / what set up did you use?

@NickT A gamecube will cost you 10 bucks.

11:36 PM
So are you people Canucks?

@NickT A gamecube with controllers will cost you 100.

@LessPop_MoreFizz for genuine vs. imitation I assume?

(since the Wii is backward compatible, and can use Gamecube controllers, but GCN controllers are no longer made... the used market is absurd.)

do Canadian politics suck as much as US poltics?

@NickT honestly, you'd probably get imitation controllers if you paid 100 and got more than one.
A single Wavebird can run you fifty bucks

11:37 PM
@NickT Mana and I are. A few others as well.

@ArdaXi - Too many edits? How would you prefer them? (I'm working on SO, too: stackoverflow.com/users/327466/…)

@KatieK The problem is you're bumping a lot of... erm, questionable questions, that would now be closed as off topic or otherwise bad to the front page.
And also just generally, when a large number of edits come in, it tends to drown out new questions on the front page. If you're going to be doing a lot of editing, it helps to throttle them down over a longer period of time.

I'm OK with the eye of Sauron having a closer look at bad content.
I surely get that the homepage is cluttered with edits, but there are "Newest" links.

@KatieK Which are not what a new user sees the first time they visit. If the first thing they see is a big ol' pile of broken windows... well, it gives a bad impression.

Oh, new users. Perhaps, I should I be flagging instead of editing? Or is the editing just irritating...?

11:45 PM
@KatieK It's just the quantity.

@NickT Yeah, their PM is pretty godawful

Q: Why is clay rare?

RLHA while back I was digging in my mine, near the bottom level of my map, and I found something odd-- clay! So, I cooked the four blocks I found and it gave me some bricks. Awesome! I've never seen clay again. I consulted the Minecraft wiki and it stated that clay is more rare than diamonds but...

and the leader of one of their best parties politics-wise just died of cancer

@KatieK It's less of a problem on SO because SO is so damned high volume anyway. But it's noticeable on an SE site

I've taken to just editing (albeit heavily) questions that are already on the front page
I'll usually edit all the posts in a given thread

11:51 PM
@KatieK We've had discussions on meta before this. The general policy is if you want to do bulk editing... don't.
We make an exception if your name ends in Ψ ♦

Mod edits don't bump?

@NickT Not ♦, Ψ ♦

@NickT The bump can be disabled for them.

CHAOS members don't bump questions if they are a moderator.

Brett doesn't have a diamond
just a psi

11:54 PM
And his edits bump again.
afaik anyway.

I thought that the Archaeologist / Excavator badges indicated encouragement for polishing old stuff.
I'm sorry that the volume isn't working for y'all - I'll try to slow it down.

@KatieK I think so too, which is why they are horrible badges for a low-volume site.
If they're unanswered, I'd make an exception. Well, basically, if they would benefit from some extra attention.

@KatieK They do, but doing it en masse is bad.
Part of it is a problem that 'What's good for SO isn't always good for SE'.

FWIW, If they are bad questions, I'd be more then happy to see them burninated, but I didn't feel confident to flag everything I looked at during lunch.
