@Shaun Wow, really the heart of down town
@Shaun Capital Hill is only scary if you find College kids running around drunk scary
Belltown is just north of where you'll work
its a nice area but a little expensive
North of that is the westlake area
I kind of feel like that area is run down
I realize they're trying to gentrify it, but it still feels a little slummy
Across lake union from westlake is Freemont
Freemont is a very hip area, with an active night life for a late 20s, early 30s guy
although I know some people complain that maybe it stays open a little too late
South of union late (and east of westlake) is the south lake union area
that's becoming the new "belltown"
that and the whole denny triangle are really right next to downtown, so a lot of that is spreading up that way
chances are you could get very much a belltown feel at a lower price
though its less populated
East of that is capital hill
the northern side is more residential and homes
where as the part closer to seattle U is much more college kids
and then the south end bumps up against the international district (where I live)
I do NOT recommend the international district
its about as ghetto as Seattle gets
South of ID, is Beacon Hill.
I haven't spent much time there but it feels like lower middle class homes
like the people who don't have the money to afford good homes, but still have enough to avoid living in a trailer park
