@VishwaPrakashHV Can you wait for a minute while i find that ppa?
@VishwaPrakashHV Or better open synaptic, goto to the origins tab in the left bottom of the screen, then post a screenshot of all the ppas that you can see on the left side of the screen
I am getting this :
17:44
@VishwaPrakashHV remove the message by closing we are going to solve that issue
@VishwaPrakashHV Also post the output of find /etc/apt/ -type f '*.list'
` find /etc/apt/ -type f '*.list' ` ?
Click on LP-PPA-xorg-edgers/now and post the screenshot
@VishwaPrakashHV First post the screenshot then the command

@VishwaPrakashHV That ppa is toxic

I did this today morning
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa -y
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install nvidia-352
Yeah I interpreted
I saw some tutorial on How to install Nvidia Driver and did that.
What should I do now ?
and could you please explain me what do you mean by toxic ppa?
17:53
Aha! If you want the latest drivers, its always better to get the *.run file from the official websites.
That ppa is not needed at all
Do this:
I have the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-352.63.run file But I dont know hoe to install it
yeah, tell me
why did you remove it??
Accidentally
Yeah scroll down and disable xorg
Disable xorg
17:59
Yup
Don't type any commands now
Yup good!
Now do as I say
sudo apt-get remove --purge libgdm1; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install libgdm1
what should I do here? Reload?
18:02
No close it and use the terminal
vishwa@vishwa-PC:~$ sudo apt-get remove --purge libgdm1; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install libgdm1

Guess you need to add the ppa again and then rempve it again.
which ppa?
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa; sudo apt-get update; sudo ppa-purge ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
Man that ppa is so bad!
Why can't it not get uninstalled? Frustrated
Bad in what way?
18:36
It just doesn't want to go
yeah, I get this :
* Proprietary graphics drivers are now in https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

* WARNING: Do not use this PPA with the precise X backport stacks, aka if you fresh install of 12.04.2 or newer. You can switch back to a compatible one by installing xserver-xorg-lts-precise instead if you do want to use these packages but horrible things will happen if you don't.

Be sure to revert this PPA before doing a release upgrade or the upgrade will not succeed. To revert to official packages, install the ppa-purge package and run "sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers".
Press y then Enter
yeah... its updating
OMG! what is this???
Did you see the warning? You shouldn't have added that ppa
Show
18:40
Nah! don't worry let it finish
100 conflicts??
what should I do now?
Don't press y
Press n
Now, see if the xorg ppa is enabled at Other Softwares tab
Its not working bro :(
18:42
Ctrl C
I press n and hit ented

That ppa aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
shall I try completely removing nvidia and rebooting??
and follow that video ?
It will crash your Ubutnu
You won't be able to reboot
sure?
because I had done that once today. installed again using same method though
18:58
If you did it once then you may try
Is there any other way?
please dont say no
Also, see if you can remove that hell of a ppa after uninstalling nvidia by running sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers. The other way is to keep your current drivers and install nvidia from the *.run file and then remove the ppa
Install from *.run on top of the current drivers
And would it be a problem if I am unable to reply immediately???
No problem. But please reply tomorrow
OK!
Proceed with the steps and reply, I will check your reply later OK
and its 12:45 am here
Thanks a lot bro. bye for know
