@motosubatsu I've been desensitized after the many mishaps on that job so I'm ready for it hahaha
Found out some stuff I shouldn't do when painting, i.e. using tape to separate painting areas is terrible, got a few marks where the tapes were, but maybe I can polish those out after everything dries
The technique of rolling a paper so there's a smooth gradient between the area you're painting and the outside worked well though
@IanC just a cheap inverter welder - picked it up on a whim as I had a small project in mind, that project never materialized and I've just never found the time to start learning
@motosubatsu Stick welder? Go to a scrappy yard and get some throw away metal, just to practice some beads, but definitely having a small project makes it more fun
As long as it isn't something structural that is dangerous to fail, recently I did a little garbage basket that opens and closes for my house, small stuff like that is good to practice :)
@IanC yeah that was sort of the original plan - I've got a metal side-table frame that needs a new top and I've got some funky-looking sheet metal I was going to weld to the top. It doesn't need to hold any serious weight and if the weld failed the metal would just sit on top anyway. But the original plan for using the table fell by the wayside so I haven't gotten around to doing it
@motosubatsu It's a good small project! After I finish this car job I'll have to figure out some other stuff to do with the welder, maybe a welding machine table with wheels, could use some scrap metal I've on my backyard
@IanC Welding is a great hobby. When I am finishing renovating (perhaps at fall of 2050, haha) I will equip the workshop with some bigger tools. A nice welder will surely be also present.
