@IanC What engine does it have?

@Martin It's a 1.0 MPFI 8V engine, guess it's very economic but I can't really know the consumption until I fix the odometer
Guys, while I was trying to clean the excess dust under the hood (not much sucess so far haha) I saw some wiring that I'd like to work on, make it less exposed so I avoid any headaches in the future. Any major disvantadges in redoing the wiring without using the original car wires? Like, buying the wire and connections on an electrical shop and redoing it?
The idea was not only to make the service cheaper, but also to use better connectors and wires, since the car is almost 18 years old there are probably some better options by now

@IanC Haynes do digital versions of the repair manuals - it's for the hatchback but it might be a place to start: haynes.com/en-gb/vauxhall/corsa/1997-2000

From mentioning it being the 1.0 MPFI 8V (and it being a 2001 rather than 2002) I'm assuming it's most likely to be the "Family I" engine - which is a 1.0 I4, that being the case the UK Corsa B manuals are going to be of limited value to you as they didn't use that engine in them
we had the delightful "Family 0" I3 engine instead

the Family 1 isn't a bad little engine tbh - way more powerful than any 1.0 hailing from the 80's has any right to be, even if you do have to rev it hard to get the best out of it.
You definitely want to avoid any car-scenery interfaces though - the Corsa B platform predates many significant safety improvements and consequently it doesn't do well in head on impacts.
