Hand brakes on and 1st gear, did I forget anything to make it safe? I'm also thinking about getting a better jack, mine is that type which works but I've to be extra careful so it's stable (I use some wood under it when lifting):
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 finally finished changing the bolts from the carter protector to my modified ones. I actually only replaced 2 of 4 because half of them still had good threads. I had to lift the car today so I could use a hand drill and finish opening a bad thread so I could pass the modified bolt through the hole
I can add helicoil thread inserts later, but right now I went for the easier, cheaper and practical route. The thread inserts package would be 40 bucks, plus 40 bucks of the thread jig (think that's the name, the piece that cuts the thread), plus something more for the thread jig holder. I'll leave it like it is for now

@IanC - I wouldn't worry about it. It's not structural or anything. It's not like too many people are going to be looking under the car. If I were you, actually, unless the panel needs to come down on a regular basis, is to just throw some locktite on them and cut them down to size when done ... then not worry about them anymore.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 It doesn't have to come down that often, but sometimes I need to take it off. Oil changes, I'll need to replace some parts that require me to lock the flywheel through a small gap that this plate covers. Not really regular but it's good to be able to remove it without going crazy trying to put it back haha
with those modified bolts it should be easier, as long as I don't push the bolt up by accident, I just remove the nut and slide the plate down, to put it back I slide it up carefully so I don't push the bolt, lock it with a screwdriver and tight the nut
As it was before I'd have to fit a 13mm wrench inside this metal plate at the same time I used another wrench to remove the bolt. It didn't make it as easy as it would be if I remade the thread, but slightly easier

@IanC many security teams have no coders, no penetration testers etc. That end of things is important but it's only one of a huge number of topics in this industry
It's incredibly broad :-)

@RoryAlsop I imagine it is! Probably a cool area to work in :)
