@3Dave - You take all the fun out of it ...
@3Dave - But the real drama started with SOS when you decided to turbocharge the engine ...

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 🤔😫
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 I’m getting ready to install the 3-bar MAP sensors and reflash the ECU. What could possibly go wrong by adding 30hp and 80#tq to an engine with 90k miles.

3:09 AM
@Ceshion still breathing?
And going to pull the vented fenders from the SOS, paint them (again) black to match the GXP, pull the old blue fenders out of the Box O’ Parts and put them back on. Just trying not to do anything too crazy.
Though, I didn’t realize how slowly the stock motor revs until now. The SOS has a spec AL flywheel and clutch. Parts I love but REALLY don’t to swap.
Then again, it’s $1k worth of parts. Maybe I should just store the SOS and use it for parts. :( sad end to an epic of automotive codependency

@3Dave - I'm sure you realize motors of today should be able to handle 200-300k without issue ... even your GXP. BUT ... once you start modding an engine, it's longevity will start to decrease ... which is probably where you were going in the first place. I'm also sure the longevity is inversely proportional to the amount of mods performed as well.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 that is lovely

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 yeah yeah... but I’m still going to do it. :)

2 hours later…
4:50 PM
@3Dave - I would think less of you if you didn't, lol
@3Dave - As for me, I put the UV dye into the oil ... and ... wouldn't you know, it wasn't leaking. Knowing that things don't miraculously fix themselves when it comes to vehicles, I'm going to give it some time and see if I can see where she's drooling.
The #3 injector isn't firing, so I'm going to have to get a replacement for it. I bet I blew it when I was cleaning them.
The stage 2 clutch gives me about an inch off the floor board to when it starts grabbing. I'm hoping upon breakin it will come out some, but it's doing what it's supposed to be doing. Engagement seems good and smooth, just a little early in the pedal stroke.
Great fun. I'm still betting the front crankshaft oil seal is leaking, but who knows until I can see it flow. I don't want to pull things apart until I know for sure what it is.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 that’s weird (dye). Clean it up and wait I guess. The dye lasts forever. Cause it’s, like, dye.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 did the clutch come with a matching pressure plate?

@3Dave - Yes, I bought them as a pair.
@3Dave - That's what I'm going to have to do.
I ordered a new set of injectors ... well, rebuilt with lifetime warranty.

Now I’m fantabulous Wichita Falls. It sucks. If the wife and kids weren’t back home, I’d likely turn around and go back to CO.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 there was a Solstice / Sky owners meetup in Black Hawk, CO this week, and I have a few friends in Denver I haven’t seen in forever.

What are you doing going around the west? Just having fun? Or is this for work?

And a good excuse to put the new car through it’s paces. Other than the windshield and the fact that the rear tires are mismatched - leading to entertaining torque steer - it’s great so far.
I’ve had a short shifter sitting in my office for a month, didn’t install it because I wasn’t certain I was keeping th blue car. I got to drive a Solstice with an LS7 with h short shifter, it was awesome. So, tune, MAP sensors, shifter. Seems
pretty innocuous.
And I hate phone “keyboards.” My eyes are old and diabetic.
Back on the road now. Have a good one.

10:51 PM
hey everyone! finally have a minute to myself among the constant work-exhausted from work cycle, but yes I am still with us haha

11:18 PM
@Ceshion - Good to see you! Was beginning to wonder :o) We miss you!

11:29 PM
Good to see you too! Just been buried with a project at work, 60-70 hour, WOT work weeks and coming home exhausted at the end of it every night

@Ceshion - Please, do take care of yourself first. While we miss you, we'll live.

Doing my best c: today is the first time I've gotten to actually sit down and catch up with people in a while which I've been missing, that's why I popped in here obviously

Haha! We appreciate you taking the time.
Dave is out and about, doing his Solstice thing in the new (to him) Solstice ... guess you can read as well as I can type ;)

11:44 PM
Honestly it seems a little overwhelming to actually catch up with the log right this second haha
do you know of spoon theory?

Is that the theory of your better half? ;-)
(obviously I don't know, lol)

haha, one sec then link incoming

The spoon theory is a disability metaphor and neologism used to explain the reduced amount of energy available for activities of daily living and productive tasks that may result from disability or chronic illness. "Spoons" are a visual representation used as a unit of measure in order to quantify how much energy a person has throughout a given day. Each activity requires a given number of spoons, which will only be replaced as the person "recharges" through rest. A person who runs out of spoons has no choice but to rest until their spoons are replenished. This metaphor is used to describe the...

I don't know whether my brain can handle it, but I'm willing to give it a go :o)

11:46 PM
it's pretty easy to follow, for a reason

Gotcha ... I'll give it a go in a minute.
Oh heck, I can pause my video (knee deep in YouTube, lol! ... geesh ... it just sucks you in and won't let go!)
@Ceshion - Yup, easy to understand. I get it.

I've been in the negatives for a little while, kinda just disappeared off everything and haven't been getting much done besides work ^u^; but I'm headed off for a vacation in the beginning of July and I can't wait for it

@Ceshion - Good on yah! I'm going to take a "staycation" at the beginning of July. Take four days off from work and get a total of 10 days off in a row (including compressed day off; 4th; weekends).
