@@user15713 - Unfortunately, driving technique questions are off-topic for this site. Here in the chat we have a lot more flexibility with what we can talk about. For driving a standard shift transmission, the easy way to think about it is like riding a bike. As you depress the clutch, you let off the gas. When you lay on the gas, you release the clutch. One coming up, one going down.
@@user15713 - As for the technique you describe, it sounds like you already have it figured out. There is no reason in my mind to speed up the engine in between shifting gears. This just wastes gas as well as the tranny synchros. If what you are doing now works and you aren't grinding gears, you are probably doing it right. I can tell you one thing, ensure you pull your foot off the clutch when not utilizing the pedal. This causes wear on the throwout bearing and wears the clutch faster.
