I lied. I think it says "the English are just imperialistic fools with extreme --------- -------- in regards to what constitutes a fair start"?
EXTREME COGNITIVE DISSONANCE!
Got it.

Free state
"The Irish and Scottish have ------ themselves to be -------------------, rather than honoring their ancestors earned the long term health of their nation"?
@Axelrod Free State is a pejorative term in the modern Irish Nationalist community. :)
---earned--- and
---hearing--- honoring
@WadCheber It takes a special kind of toxicity to create that situation.

@Axelrod Indeed. Those people are the ones who should be criticized - they have convinced themselves that they know better than their fellow Irishmen and Irishwomen.
---NERNINLERSH---

NERN INLERSH
"It is a situation that never should have happened because the British were supposed to give up their Northern Irish land holdings back in the fifties". I seriously have a headache now.

Non English
They officially ended their imperialism in the 50s, but didn't actually give everything up.
"The Irish and Scottish have allowed themselves to be swayed by the title of the state, rather than honoring their ancestors and the long term health of their nation"?
title teat
Oh, sure, NOW strikethrough works.
Markdown hates line breaks.
Weird.
@Axelrod I can't express how crushed I was to see Ireland's first breath of socioeconomic health in a thousand years turn to crap in 2007. Very sad.
02:30
@WadCheber The election and dail dissolution?
No, just the collapse of the economy.
Yeah. That one hit us all. But that's what happens when quick gain takes precedence over economic stability.
The Irish have waited so long for economic security, and it was all flushed down the toilet after only 10 years. The North will never agree to reunification with the economy in the crapper. Even the Catholics backed away from the Nationalist/Republican position because of the economy.
See, that's one of the issues with people: we're most afraid of risk when we have the least to lose, IE right after losing most of what we have.
Whereas we're more likely to risk when we have more on the line to lose.
