@Undo Yeah, I've noticed. So I better do a reload whenever I pass that tab in my browser :) 7 more days to go until the next phase. It's getting interesting – even more if you can convince Unor to chime in :)
Thank you, @Undo and @Izzy -- but I’m indecisive about it, mostly because I can’t see how being a mod would "make [me] more effective as opposed to simply reaching 10k or 20k rep" (to quote one of the election questions). I feel like I would want to do the same stuff as mod which I’m doing now.
In elections I usually vote for those candidates that are good in communicating with new or problematic users in the comments, but that isn’t one of my skills. I like to focus on editing, organizing tags, and discussions on Meta; not on "moderating" users. Is that a role the site would need as mod? Not sure. I’ll give it some more thought.
@unor That was my argument for years, with an added "having no peace with close-votes as they are binding then". And the same stuff with "problematic users" (I have my limits there, too – but mods are also a team, and can "distribute tasks" according to what each member can do best).
But meanwhile, I doubt some of my arguments a little. And I told myself to take the chance here this year, to prove whether I was wrong "rejecting" those requests for nomination. Especially SR, were I've been with almost from the start, gives me a good chance for that; I'd definitely hesitate doing that at SO – but here I almost know "each corner", took part in "setting up our rules" at Meta. It's not too big to scare me away ;)
@unor We're much alike :) Think it over, there're 6 more days left for nomination. Would be great seeing you on the list!
