@jonsca I have. Actually, I thought I had solved this problem before - more than a month ago. It's by carefully reading my code, and with self-doubt, that I figured I had it wrong.

@CHM And he did it on an Apple ][ with a green monochrome screen. lol. Nah, don't worry about it, everyone can appreciate that you have to start somewhere with it.

@CHM: There are several things people can mean when they say "really good FORTRAN programmer". I hope for your sake that you mean one of the good ones. :P
