@orthocresol Righto.
@M.A.R. Of course. You could be mistaken for St. Mark though.

Q: Heats of combustion of cycloalkane homologues

Harry HolmesHeat of combustion increases as the number of carbons increases, but on comparing ethyl cyclopentane, ethyl cyclohexane, andethyl cycloheptane, shouldn't you consider ring stability too? In that context, it should be 6-membered ring < 7-membered ring < 5-membered ring. Why isn't this so?

Q: How can we define a non-spontaneous reaction?

ApurviumConsider a reaction:$$\ce{$aA + bB$ <=> $cC + dD$}$$ The value of reaction quotient at a certain time $t$, $${Q_c = \frac{[C]^c[D]^d}{[A]^a[B]^b}}$$ where the concentrations $[A], [B], [C]$ and $[D]$ are at time $t$. Let the reaction start initially at $t = 0$, with only reactants $i.e.$ $[A]$ ...

Moderator "Jonsca" was "last seen" on Chemistry Stack Exchange "5 months ago", but was last seen on "Movies & TV" 4 months ago, Stack Overflow 4 months ago, and Meta Stack Exchange 4 months ago. Does anyone know what's going on?

A: Firing mods and forced relicensing: is Stack Exchange still interested in cooperating with the community?

jonscaI have suspended my activity on Web Applications and Chemistry. I really, genuinely, wanted more time and more facts to make a decision about this, but An Update to our Community and an Apology convinced me that facts are going to be hard to come by and largely distorted by a PR ploy.

@Loong: Thank you I am reading it now.
Okay, it wasn't such a long post after all. It just says they are suspending activity on Web Applications and Chemistry..... so I guess it's okay for them to continue using Movies & TV, and Stack Overflow? Okay.
What would happen if someone posted a question on Chemistry Meta about having that user lose their diamond, since they are not participating at all on the site?
The post says "I have suspended my activity on Web Applications and Chemistry." but does not say for how long.
@Loong: The user has not contributed much to Chemistry Stack Exchange anyway (at least from what I can tell). No questions since 2012, No answers since 2014, and in 2018 there was a total of just 12 "actions", all of them being comments. They have not done any reviews since 2017, and only reviewed 3 things in 2017. In 2016 they did about 60 reviews (still not a lot, but at least something). They lost interest in Chemistry SE way before that Reinstate Monica stuff started.

@user1271772 It's not a mod's job to do reviews normal users can, and a lot of what they can do you can't see directly
Jonsca is as experienced as they come and he's irreplaceable. Only if he insists he step down will there be any such action, I think.
P.S. I don't think mods are in trouble right now, flags queues are not burdensome ATM, but @Loong should confirm this
@Zenix It's my initials
And why are my initials my username? Because I'm such an uncreative person
@rene Hallo
@WilliamR.Ebenezer He must have been a really handsome guy
I dunno what I'd look like when I'm old but I'd probably look like Walter White.
I mean, all chemists look like Walter White when they get old.
@user1271772 Meh, all of the dish is smelly now

@M.A.R. Will you be fine if I try to make a guess about your name ;) If you won't like it, feel free to put a check
@M.A.R. thank you so much for your responses! I don't understand what is meant by "all of the dish is smelly now".
I believe you when you say that the user is "irreplaceable", but they are also doing nothing. Say you run a busy restaurant with only 6 employees and one of the best (and irreplaceable) employees quits; do you refuse to hire someone new because that employee was "irreplaceable" ? Also, I appreciate that the flag queues might not be too burdensome, but less than a year ago there was an election where 2 new mods were assigned. Why did we elect 2 new moderators if we only needed 1?
