@Martin-マーチン i'd be excited about that

Q: Is the pyrolysis of tetrachloroaluminate(1−) anion possible?

Just A Young ArtistWikipedia says that lithium tetrafluoroborate decomposes to lithium fluoride and boron trifluoride when heated. Does the same hold for sodium tetrachloroaluminate (all anhydrous) as well?

I'm pretty frigging annoyed.
My Gen. Chem teachers get definitions wrong, and it always costs me a question in a quiz or whatever.
It's just one, I'd end up being A anyway hopefully, BUT GODDAMNIT, activities are dimensionless! Argh
It's just life, no need to get heated.
I've forgotten all the chemistry I learned, and I spent 300+ hours on it.

@CowperKettle But you don't know how important it is that activities are dimensionless
The life of a few cute kittens and pups depends on activities being dimensionless

There, there, pity for dimensionally challenged teachers
@M.A.R. I've just googled for it, and yes - I did not read about it during my chemistry infatuation period
Sadly, I'm now reading about C#, so no time for reading about this aspect..

@Mithoron well, doesn't help, he confused the definition of Kw and it cost me a question. 1.0000 units of question!
A similar thing happened with the other gen. chem teacher who's taken over the theoretical part of gen. chem, something about "molecules with covalent character" headdesk
It may sound like I'm actually caring more about this stuff, ranting about them, but I don't. It's kinda bothering me though that it's probably going to be recurring.
@M.A.R. That's not so dumb actually. Percent of ionic and covalent character of bonds in molecules would be more precise though ;)
20:02
@Mithoron Well the question went like "which molecule has a covalent character", the options being "AsCl3, AsCl5, AsCl4+, AsF3"
I'm laughing too but it's more like the Joker.
Hysterical, and likely to win me an Oscar
I know @Mart loves these things so I'm just leaving it here for him
Of these I wager the cation would have highest percent, unless idiots consider character of interaction with counterion :>
Well, see, how can I put it.
The only way it would make sense for him to ask that question from gen. chem questions is if he meant dipole moment
Which molecule has zero dipole moment.
Whatever. I'm enjoying biochem
@M.A.R. Would make sense, but cation would also qualify
20:12
@Mithoron Meh, who cares. Let them have it.
I just need a chamber to shout in to make sure I'm not the crazy one.
