@orthocresol Nope, that's more than enough. Thanks a lot! :D
@orthocresol Okay.. Thanks! Just one thing: Was the indole ring deprotonated with a hydride ion in step 1 to liberate H2 gas?

@Loong i remember leaving a comment on one of his earlier similar answers to not post such an answer. I don't understand why he would repeat the same thing again. The question asks "how" to name such a chemical compound so the answer should describe how, and not just link to an online database. And yes as you said it's disallowed in the guidelines. i have flagged it as NAA.

Q: Can a long polymer chain interact with itself via van der Waals forces?

Ernest OngIt is known that van der Waals interaction is an intermolecular forces. So is it possible that a long polymer chain interacting with itself via non-bonded interactions (such as van der Waals forces / electrostatic forces / hydrogen bonding)? Thank you.

@YUSUFHASAN Yes. I don’t know 100% if that will actually happen, but I’d guess it would.

Q: Are people voting less than they used to on Physics SE?

Time4TeaIt seems to me that the level of voting on Physics SE is noticeably lower than on most other SE sites that I frequent and lower that it has been in the past (I have been a user on the site for several years). A casual look down the list of most recent questions shows that the vast majority are on...

@AvnishKabaj It appears we hit a major slump summer this year, but otherwise votes have been quite constant

let's wait for the winter and see if voting renormalises
