@Loong can you help me with two nomenclatures ?

10:42 AM
@NehalSamee Just ask your question. If nobody answers, I could have a look later after work.

@Loong is it okay if I can ask some questions too

11:19 AM
@Martin-マーチン @orthocresol I have managed to push certain updates to both the userscripts. Please have a look when you're free. Thanks!

@NehalSamee @harambe Don't ask to ask, just ask. The worst thing that might happen is that you get no reply...
@GaurangTandon I'll have a look, but I can only give it a spin next week.
But in any case, thanks :D

@Martin-マーチン Thank you. I will keep that in mind

I had a small doubt ... When we convert newman into saw horse configuration then how do we know which group is going out of the plane and which is going into the plane. I always had this doubt when I have to check optical activity of newman projections and I try to convert it into sawhorse and try it . If you guys find some time, please have a look

Can you tell me about the small r and s .... How to use them when we have pseudosymmetric carbon — harambe 5 hours ago
@harambe This is not in syllabus.
If you still wish to know how then give me some time I'll get back to you but don't know when as I've forgotten how the nomenclature works
And I'm really swamped up with studies

@Loong @Martin-マーチン ... What is the name of compound CH(triple)C-CH=CH-N(CH3)2 and C3H7-CH(CH=CH2)-COOH? thanks in advance :)

yesterday, by Mithoron
@mart I have a feeling we don't need the change of rules when as long as chat is half-dead...
@Mith Worry not, for I am here! ;-)
@NehalSamee Judging by the question (or rather, the way you asked it), I suspect you haven't really talked to Herr Loong and Herr Mart before XD
Also, welcome to chat! o/
Senpai @ortho, I require of ye something in the way of advice O:)
I'm looking for some "good" Biochem books... Carbohydrate and Protein Chemistry (not necessarily in a single book) to be more exact. Can you recommend anything? :D
I'm hoping for something along the lines of a March's or Sundberg's equivalent of carbohydrate/protein chem.
(cc @Loong @Mart @Zhe @Mith )

3:44 PM
@AvnishKabaj it's okay. I figured out how to calculate isomers for odd electron now so it's really not a worry now plus I don't want to. Impose on you

3:58 PM
I couldn't explain it better than this answer

4:21 PM
@NehalSamee N,N-dimethylbut-1-en-3-yn-1-amine and 2-ethenylpentanoic acid, respectively

@paracetamol No, I don't know. It depends on exactly what kind of topics you are looking for. Biochemistry books tend to focus more on the structures and biological function of macromolecules. If you're looking for purely chemical (i.e. no biological relevance) reactions and transformations of carbohydrates, for example, you won't find these in biochemistry books.

4:49 PM
@Martin-マーチン sure :)

@orthocresol Why are all of the oxford primers amazing?
Because they are

@Loong Thank you for the nomenclature :)

Maybe it's better not to ask why Chemistry is not on the list yet:

Q: Rollout of responsive design site themes - Tracking post

CatijaThis post will be updated as the responsive design and left navigation layouts are released on each site. Previously, we tried this out by releasing still screenshots of the site designs and getting input on them and then releasing them live. This was problematic because users couldn't actually ...

Q: What is the Experimental value for freezing point of water, in degrees farenheight. Unit conversion from degrees Celsius to degrees farenheight

BobWondering how to solve this. What is the experimental value for freezing point of water? Do I take this value and turn it into farenheight??

:/
Surely even kids know what the freezing point of water is...
