First "User was removed", now I noticed that paracetamol got banned for a month: "This account is temporarily suspended for voting irregularities. The suspension period ends on Feb 16 at 19:17". What is going on today? A witchhunt?

It's usually just the mod sending a moderator private message, and acting on it. It rarely gets elevated to SE staff
But sure, there might be times we would need someone with access to the database
@Zhe the person can respond to the mod message. After that, the mod can respond back too, and so on.
But unsurprisingly, sometimes people act as jerks and swear and stuff, so the person can only respond once unless the mod responds to their message
