@Benzene there is always room for a simpler answer. However, the prevailing attitude here is rather hostile towards d orbital participation. If you want to invoke S=O double bonds in your answers, simply add a caveat at the end mentioning that it is a simplified picture.

Have any efforts been made to set the user Li Zhi straight? They have multiple accounts and they consistently post extremely long (though somewhat sensical) posts to old questions

I have commented on their posts in the past, asking them to make more use of their return button, but it seems to have had no effect
