What's going on with this person's answers? They all seem to be paraphrased or directly copied from earlier answers.
@f'' Yeah you're right
Not sure how to flag those though.. @Loong
16:01
@Hippalectryon you should probably flag as "in need of moderator intervention" and explain what is wrong
@Loong I'm unure whether I should flag some of them though. Take for instance this one, it doesn't contain any information that isn't in an older answer, so it doesn't serve any purpose imo... should I flag it ? Or is this kind of answer considered to be fine ?
@Hippalectryon hmm, the Help Center only mentions “exact duplicates of other answers”
Hasn't this issue ever been ruled in meta ? (I rarely ever venture there)
meta has this:
5
A: Duplicate answer as late answer from new user

DanielIf someone copies and pastes an exact duplicate of another person's existing answer without attribution, that might be actionable as posting copyrighted material (our CC license requires attribution). Otherwise, if they're answering a question in different words than an existing answer, there's ...

However, this answer isn't official and only has a score of +5, which isn't really meta consensus.

@f'' Useless answers are technically borderline.
Sometimes we flag and remove them, and sometimes we don't.
If you can't prove they're plagiarizing, your flag is a loss.

@TIPS, why is Martin not here anymore?
@pentavalentcarbon He's busy.
On vacation.
Or something like that.
Obviously he thinks we fall for that reasoning, but let him enjoy his exile.
I can understand being busy. I've only had "free time" recently too.

Maybe @Mart got a promotion to an uber-PhD or samurai chemist ninja master or something
I'm already aware the samurais and ninjas are some kinda two faces of one coin, but let's forget scientifically correct statements for a moment.
That's not how academia works 😒
19:37
@pentavalentcarbon Then let's fix academia.
I'm already too bitter to care anymore. It will probably change (in the USA) in the next ~20 years. Japan has a different work ethic overall, though.

Ok, I'm going to try and answer this today.

Q: Typical runtime for CASSCF calculations

Andrew R.I'm doing single point energy calculations of FeS using ORCA. I originally used DFT with a variety of functionals, and these calculations all took less than a minute. Now I'm attempting to run CASSCF calculations using 8 active orbitals, 12 active electrons, and the aug-cc-pVTZ basis set. It's be...

Just some more annoying legwork I have to do...
While trying to avoid perfection.
That's awful.

Ok, time to find some !!coffee...

Have you no shame?
I think I'm going to see fireworks in person tonight for the first time in...years.
@pentavalentcarbon Yay I guess
Yes, yes, this room is very "global", I understand.
No really, yay
I think all of the world is happy people are celebrating stuff in one corner of it.
So @Penta, done with your answer yet?
I hope I didn't scare @Penta away. .__.

1. These answers take a while. More on the hours/days timescale than that organic stuff.
2. I won't make it to the coffee shop for another hour and a half at least.
K K
Plus, I think I have to run a few simple calculations to bolster my answer.
"Simple"
Take your time
Oh, I've been sitting on half completed answers for months
But I'd prefer to finish most of them.
There are some that I might never finish.

Ok, making good progress...this is turning into a beast, but at least it'll be done properly.
