Q: How to calculate the amount of citric acid to neutralise the pH within wastewater?

Daniel BridgesWe have an effluent tank, with a consent to discharge at between 5.5 - 11 pH, the tank holds 100000 liters of dirty water. When the pH reaches 10.5 we add citric acid to bring the pH down. How many liters of citric acid with a pH of 2.2 should we add to the system to bring the pH down to around ...

@MAFIA36790 It's pretty clearly someone in a production environment. They probably don't have a lot of spare time to research the chemistry in detail, and aren't trying to learn chem, either. It's a practical problem they're facing, and they're coming to us as a repository of expertise. I would leave open & answer, as was done.
12:40
What do you think of Alberty's physical chemistry textbook?
No experience with it. They used Laidler in my one college course on it.
Might get some more responses as more people wander in, though.

Are you working in some day-labour factory?
In total.
I'm counting commuting and breaks and stuff.
user116211
Our school ran for 5hrs including all those stuffs and recess....
13:48
I wish it was a day-labor factory.
user116211
Is it compulsory to remain present every day?
It's 5 days a week.
user116211
@IͶΔ Ha! I didn't know that! Thanks!! Our school remained open for 7 days a week!!
@MAFIA36790 That's even more horrible than our principal.
user116211
@IͶΔ ;P
user116211

Well, maybe....
user116211
I don't know much about that....
user116211
Last year, I went to school for just 2 weeks.....
14:06
Still, going to school all week is horrid
JUST horrid
OK that's even more horrid
user116211
Sun wasn't compulsory, though....
user116211
Well, may be horrid....
user116211

@MAFIA36790 Well, back when I was 10, school was nice.

@IͶΔ Primary education is always good.
Now, it just feels like I'm sitting beside smart people and I'm (we're all) treated like sheep.
Seriously, GET OUT OF MY LAWN OXIDATION STATES.
user116211
Now, my studies solely hinges on some good amount of books and Stack Exchange.
user116211
School never played a role in my studies.
user116211
Why me? Not anyone of our batch.
Guys, do any metal chlorides decompose?
14:23
@Simon-Nail-It Like $\ce{Cu2Cl6^2-}$?

The reaction is described as an identification reaction for glycerol in Russian textbooks. I haven't found a description of it on English language sites.
It's interesting what is considered an identification reaction for polyatomic alcohols in the West.
