Q: Should we burninate the 'iupac' tag?

bonThe iupac tag only has one legitimate usage but I consistently see it misused for questions about IUPAC nomenclature (such as this recent example). Is it really a necessary tag? I seem to spend far too much time removing it from questions where it is unwarranted.

@IͶΔ Entertain me!

Nowruz (Persian: نوروز‎‎, literally "New Day") is the name of the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year, is celebrated by Iranian peoples worldwide as the beginning of the new year. It has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Middle East. It marks the first day of the month of Farvardin in the Iranian calendar. Nowruz is the day of the astronomical vernal equinox (or northward equinox), which marks the beginning of the spring in the northern hemisphere and usually occurs on March 21 or the previous/following...
Sorry, I'm in the doing-clean-up phase, so I can't say cool stuff for now.
@IͶΔ Okay! Make your home beautiful for the celebration!

you are supposed to clean up

The great thing about romanization is that no two people romanize things the same way ;-)
user116211
Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day....
11:07
@IͶΔ that maybe true... or not
user116211
Did you do anything special, @Mart ?
no, what do you mean?
user116211
@Martin-マーチン Mean did you celebrate the day?

user116211
Damn ;/
11:09

user116211
@Martin-マーチン Jap?
user116211
@Martin-マーチン: Germans typically celebrate this, don't they?
no. It's not popular
user116211
O>O

It's the patron saint in Ireland
they do celebrate
user116211
@Martin-マーチン of course; they wait for this day ;P

@Martin-マーチン And we, Indians?
user116211
We just need an excuse to celebrate ;)

I don't understand this craze over trying to count dative bonds.
After bond formation, is a dative bond any different from a normal covalent bond @Mart?
@IͶΔ My new favourite emotion!
@IͶΔ I believe in two ideal cases of bonding: ionic and covalent.
@Martin-マーチン How so?
I think that nuclei don't care where the electrons come from, as long as it keeps them together...
Yes that's my point.
Yes that's my point.
12:07
Yes that's my point.
Yes that's my point.
Yes that's my point.
user116211
@Martin-マーチン Even Atkins wrote the wavefunction describing the dative bond as a typical covalent bond.
user116211
The point is only that the electron is donated by a single partner but shared by both as typical covalent one.
user116211
And
user116211
Yes, that's my point.
@IͶΔ Don't be rude.
ಠ_ಠ
12:36
@Martin-マーチン Hmm?
@Martin-マーチン I wasn't rude. ಠ_ಠ

I'm about to go do something more useful with my life actually.
@user3 might be around for you to chat with.
@IͶΔ Good luck with that
been trying and failing most of my adult life
which to be fair..hasn't been that long
Point is case, never say "good luck with that" because on a chatroom on the internet it comes off as sarcastic.
Unless you're being sarcastic.
But I'll shun you then. ಠ_ಠ
Intended as sarcasm, feel free to shun haha

A: Is there any possibility of tautomerisation to en-ol form?

Joker Chemist(Please convert this to a comment, since I cannot write one.) Without appealing to computational QM methods like in some of the answers, we can observe that Bredt's rule would preclude the enolization at the only alpha carbon with a free hydrogen, due to a gain in ring and angle strain. Had the ...

Wow, a mature one.
Hullo @J.M.! Welcome to the Table!
user116211
@IͶΔ Jokers are always matured.
15:44
Yes, hello to you as well, @IͶΔ. :)
Hmm, why would an answerer not be mature (or at least seemingly so)?
@J.M. Well, NAA'ers are like that, aren't they?
How many people in Mathematica go all "(Please convert this to a comment, since I cannot write one.)"?
I am not familiar with that initialism, I'm afraid. I'd search, but I've been bitten before with unexpected results… :)
In there, it's "This is not an answer…", then the writer proceeds to write something both relevant and illuminating… ;)
which of course was too big for the comment box anyway.
@J.M. That's why I am humbled. :)
user116211
@Reeshabh that is the end of the answer. — IͶΔ 1 min ago
user116211

15:54
What?
user116211
@IͶΔ Wouldn't that be a comment?
It's still an answer.

user116211
@IͶΔ A great coincidence; I've my entrance exam on 27 th April :)
@IͶΔ woah!!!
in india we have 3 stages
@IͶΔ are you appearing for IChO also?
Hmm, mayhaps

where it is going to be held(IChO)
This is funny.
why?
People are going around on the site today, writing up answers starting with "this is a comment, not an answer".
haha!!
do we get points when our comments are upvoted

@IͶΔ: Good night.
@user36790 20 votes?!
Hmm, 20 points.
Hullo @Mith
@IͶΔ o/
@User3 sometimes you're not used to the conventions and say something bizarre.
When you say someone got plus something you mean they got that many votes.
Trump ain't got no reputation points.
@Mithoron How're you doin'?
user116211
@IͶΔ That's why I didn't mention votes; leave that.
user116211

@IͶΔ huh?
You didn't mention rep either.
