@Jan yes, 28.193 hotness points

Jan
@Loong Please convert that into arbitrary scale points ;)

A: How do the "arbitrary hotness points" work on the new Stack Exchange home page?

David FullertonBasically what's documented here: What formula should be used to determine "hot" questions? We have a few tweaks: Succeeding questions from the same site are penalized by increasing amounts. So, the first question from SO in the list gets multiplied by 1.0, the second by 0.98, the third ...

Jan
There's no conversion formula! !!flip

@CowperKettle That album is the gift that keeps on giving. It's amazing.
@Brian I'm a cclib developer :)

@pentavalentcarbon argerich in general is amazing, haha

She really is. I know people criticize her for the interpretation, but her playing is so unbelieveably powerful, which I really enjoy.

@orthocresol what's the difference between \mathrm and \rm?
I only recently discovered \rm and it looked just like a shorter version of \mathrm

@ringo it seems the same to me, I guess we should ask @Loong about this

Jan
\mathrm should stick to the maths fonts, spacing and whatnot. \rm might fall back to text mode in some way (but shouldn't actually). Also, \rm needs enclosing braces afaik. \mathrm is preferred for cleanliness.

@orthocresol just summon him by asking a nomenclature question
@Jan thanks!

A: How to write maths symbols

JLDiazBecause you used \rm instead of \mathrm. \rm is not a macro which accepts an argument, as you apparently thought. The macro which does that is \textrm{text} for text mode and \mathrm{text} for math mode. Instead, macro \rm changes the current font to roman, from the point in which the macro appe...

Jan
@orthocresol Wait, listening on Youtube is not legitly owning? O___o

@Jan Not really sure about this copyright and stuff actually... I'm figuring that record companies sell the recordings, so it's probably not supposed to be on YouTube?

10:32 PM
@orthocresol Truly a view to behold :D

Jan
But if Nuclear Blast puts official videos of the artists they have a contract with on Youtube, can I sue Nuclear Blast for copyright infringement?

@Jan Yeah, nowadays a lot of record companies put up their own stuff, which I guess is good for us... but this youtube.com/watch?v=MOOfoW5_2iE is probably not legit :D

Jan
Sounds like legit music to me ;)
