I was really looking at the stability of propanedial in the enol form and came to a similar structure

and made the propanedial into propanedicarboxylic acid I guess it's called, then tried to give it another carboxylic acid 'leg' at the 2 position and thought I'd compare it to this structure if that makes sense

I had read some things that the pi system doesn't do much for the stability of aromatic compounds and really from molecular orbital calculations it's all contained in the sigma bonds so I was trying to come up with some experiments that could try to prove this

@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M No I'm not talking about 'sigma aromaticity' I am talking about the controversial view that the stability of aromatic compounds is really just a property of the sigma bonds and the pi orbials are actually not really too important to the stability of the molecule.
