3:19 PM
another wave of beta invites has gone out

now just wait for everything to catch fire

indeed

I found myself desperate for some documentation yesterday.

Been playing with Rust a little lately, and boy do I get angry about the layout of their docs. Tad biased though :|
We are starting to talk seriously about what (and when) a proper launch looks like. Still plenty of work to do though, so nothing too solid to share yet.

Apparently you can't submit an edit request while another non-conflicting edit is made on the same page.

can only have one outstanding change per-topic from a single user, can retract from review and edit if you want to make updates

How do you view the history? docs-beta.stackexchange.com/documentation/java/92/… "Put each bit of syntax in a new list item" is a bit outrageous.

click "xxx contributors" on the topic

thank you

looks like default text that got included in the original draft
nuked it

<!-- if version [gte Java SE 7] --> // anyone know where I can read up on more instructions on utilizing these statements?

Q: November 19th New Features Announcement

Kevin MontroseIt's been about a week since the private beta started, and I think it's time for a quick run down of new features introduced based on the feedback so far. Edit Notifications When in the editor, you'll now receive a little popup bar telling you when someone else is: editing the same Topic, respo...

^ it's one of the new features then

cool, well I just got an invitation :P

yah
lots to catch up on

gte is greater than or equal, so there's gt (no equals)? I assume lte and lt then as well
with eq that's pretty much the entire set, or is there more?

@JohnLBevan valid comparisons are gt, gte, lt, lte, eq, and neq. — Kevin Montrose ♦ Nov 24 '15 at 15:55

thanks!

it's mostly a display thing (will be surfaced some in search later), stacking them together basically chains them
and example from some dummy local data
the versions list is owned by the "Hello World" Topic

This is why I drink.

My progress is lost when I attempted to submit my new example, and doesn't appear to be recoverable. :P

don't see an error server side, can you reproduce?

7:03 PM
Nah, maybe it's because I clicked on submit twice too quickly.

ahh, I bet we aren't disabling properly
editor code is pretty large, and pretty new (compared to the Q&A editor, which is freaking bulletproof at this point)

lol!

we're actually on CommonMark too, so that's a fun new source of issues

That's a special kind of crazy. :P
Well, be my guest. I hope this works out.

Just got my invite email :-) Whohoo !

7:07 PM
The UI is a bit irritating to navigate through. :P

Then I think about how much hard work must have went through to make this functional, and I decided not to complain.

7:17 PM
@KevinMontrose: For the last line there, I have int[][] in the source with two pairs of brackets, and it shows fine in the preview, but when I submit it for review it becomes one pair.

7:45 PM
also: no notifications for automatic rejections
well it was fun, but the interface gets frustrating quickly. bye.

8:53 PM
How do I get added to more languages?

right now there are only 4 opened, [c#], [.net], [java], and [android]
this is a restriction that will go away as the beta gets closer to finished, by the time we're on SO it'll be possible to open Documentation for SO's top tags w/o an employee doing it.

@Unihedron complain away. This is valuable feedback.
Maybe do it in a feature-request in the Q&A portion of this site though, so we can track it.

11:27 PM
this doesn't... add up...

@Unihedron 100 + 6x2 = 112...
what am I missing?

@AdamLear but I have 101 rep
1 + 100 + 6 * 2 > 101

uhhh
@KevinMontrose ^^^

11:58 PM
I do have the same thing. My rep history shows that I should have 102, but I have 101
