Heads up: we're renaming "flags" to "improvement requests" since that's what they really are in Docs and we want to disambiguate from normal Q&A flags that are intended to alert mods/high rep users to exceptional situations. This is going live in a few here, so holler at me if you see anything weird with flag improvement request raising/handling.

Gosh, we should have those on Q&A sites too. Except they shadow-ban both the flagger and the OP because obviously a) the post is unsalvageable, and b) people don't get how all the crap they send to H&I can't be salvaged.

Q: December 8th New Features Announcement

Kevin MontroseIt's been a couple weeks since our last big update (hope all the Americans had a good Thanksgiving holiday, and everyone else had a good end of November). It's time for another one (also for a new wave of invites to go out). Chat With Another Editor As an improvement of Edit Notifications, if ...

new features, another wave of beta invites to go out shortly
22:16
Welcome newly invited folks
22:32
Hello! Glad to see the Docs working, finally!
22:49
Very Exciting.
Ahhhh
finally in the beta
So here's a quick question. Should bigger subjects be focused on first?
Or is it of no importance
I'd say go for usefulness, which probably correlates with "big" to some extent
little mini-announcement: probably gonna start hacking on the proper reputation system in time for New Years
23:05
here's the first thing that bothered me: I can't reorder my code examples
Do we expect the documentation to extend out into the various javascript frameworks and popular libraries?
23:18
@RexGrammer that's been requested in the past. Something we're thinking through:

Q: Allow custom ordering of examples

Maurice StamI propose the feature to be able to change the order (sorting) of the examples. It would allow the editor to build a natural understandable flow which makes it easier for the reader to scan the examples. Example Case: The Extension Methods topic. The example of 'Where to define extension meth...

@KurtisBeavers Thanks. Didn't see that one
Here's another one. If I want to submit a topic for review, do I do it when I've filled just the basic info and then fill out some advanced/non-standard stuff, or do I write everything first then submit it for review?
23:35
There's no hard rule as we're inventing the details and looking for community input, especially around content with multiple editors.
That said, if you submit for review then add changes later, those changes will need to be reviewed. If you wait until you've added most of the content, then the topic would only go through one review.
How do I take a look at the topic I submitted for review?
Nevermind, stupid questions, figured it out, maybe there should be a more prominent link to your submitted changes instead of going through all the proposed changes and finding yours (atm it's really easy because there's so little proposed changes but when there's a lot it might be a hassle).
Also, I think the "discard" button when writing/editing a topic should ask for a confirmation before discarding

@RexGrammer those would be good feature requests. If you put it in a question, it makes it a little easier for us to track.
