Ah the HNQ. Another gold badge for rule violations, despite the post being marked CW early on. Don't we love it?
On the previously mentioned lab: they openly advertised – this week – that their offered antibody tests are now at this 'level of quality':
> The test of DiaSorin only targets IgG antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, a determination of IgA is therefore not possible. Our experience to date shows that IgA as a marker of a very recent infection can in some cases ensure the specificity of a weak positive IgG. In other cases, however, in which only IgA but not IgG positive was measured, the lower specificity of the IgA test leads to difficulties in interpreting the result, which cannot always be eliminated by control tests. In view of the continuing delivery difficulties with the IgA, we have therefore decided to refrain from the determin…
So far. We just weaned one from 8 weeks on the ventilator. Admitted for treatment for a 'cancer made worse by delayed from a couple of missed screenings' back then. Then real Cov-1-9 on top. My guess is that in praxi there might be quite an overlap?
