A: Excel auto sort rows?

jcbermuThis macro not only sort, it also makes the SUM: Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Application.ScreenUpdating = False Application.EnableEvents = False Dim wkb As Workbook Set wkb = ThisWorkbook Dim wks, wks1 As Worksheet Set wks = wkb.Worksheets("Sheet1"...

I am trying your macro now. Do I need to press anything after I paste the codes? Nothing is happening on my sheets.
Change or add or remove a value on Sheet 1 and Sheet 2 will change.
Nothing happens. Sorry, I know I am doing something wrong. The Sheet2 must be completely clean?
When you pasted the code, did you previously double clicked Sheet 1?
It doesn't matter if Sheet 2is clear or not.
You mean on the VBA /Macros window? I did.

I changed the code to easily reference to the sheets in the lines Set wks = wkb.Worksheets("Sheet1") and Set wks1 = wkb.Worksheets("Sheet2"). Paste the code, check that you put the code of the Workbook. Save, close, open again, activate macros and it should work.
No, sorry. I got nothing. I created a new excel file from scratch. On sheet1 I used columns A B C D and rows from 1 to 6. The first row is just the header with the team names. The first cell is blank. I inserted the values from A2 to D6. I opened up the VBA /Macros window and double clicked on Sheet1. I pasted the first long code you gave me. I then clicked on "this workbook" and pasted the second one. I saved my file. I changed the value of a cell but still nothing happens. I have Excel 2010 by the way.
Is your Excel disabling macros by default?
It was, but I already changed the settings to accept them
It is enabled now but still no use

I don't know...
yes, its weird
are you sure i dont need to press anything after I paste the codes?
No. Do you want me to send you my file, just to test ?
sure
is there any way to send it from here?
12:50
just a moment
I downloaded yours and I have the same problem, nothing happens
ahh, okay, never mind, I didnt know I had to close the macros window first
Is it working?
yours is working now
mine is still not working
im sending it to you
Well, use mine.
I would appreciate if you have a look at it and see whats the problem
because my actual file is much more complex so I want to understand how it works in order to adapt it
Ok. Send me the file.
12:59
please download from here
It is asking me a key
weird, there is not such a key
ahh, the download?
Megas is asking me that before downloading the file
Downloaded, I'll check it

thanks
Found it. The problem is the first column on Sheet 1. To ignore it change the line that says : thecolumn=1
to
thecolumn=2

In that way the calculations will be done from column 2 (B).
good, it works now, thank you very much
by the way, do you happen to know the ASAP utilities?
keep in mind that the line that says
Application.EnableEvents = False
make the macro unaware of further changes.
At the end of the macro the line
Application.EnableEvents = True
reenable the event awareness.

In case of an error, I advised you to close the Workbook and open it again because it enables the event awareness.
I know what it is ASAP utilities, but I have never used it.
I have it installed, it has a function that allows you to sort by more than one criteria
is it possible to use your macro like that so it sorts not only by goals total but also by goal difference and so on?
13:21
It's possible but it will need to create a second column with the diffrence values, and modify the Sort line.
all in the macro?
13:34
I will give it a try
thank you for your help and time again, I appreciate it
see you
