@jmac - I love seeing comments like this. I like how you offered a suggestion for improvement:

Hey Ryan, this question would be much more effective if it was a bit broader. Something like, "How can I determine company values and treatment of employees?" Asking for a list of potential resources will be localized (to a country) and is just asking for recommendations which won't necessarily solve a problem (those sorts of questions are better suited for other mediums). Any chance you could broaden the question a bit to explain what the actual issue you have is? — jmac 8 hours ago

its a fairly straightforward Q

we had the old V8 of cognos, so all our applications that interface with it have the v8 cognos dll's referenced

IBM are useless, and fail to understand that now we are using Cognos 10 we need the v10 dll's

any idea where i can find those?

yeah, apparently they ship with the SDK, but dont see em anywhere

it is not freely avialable

yeah were registered, officially, liscence and everything, access to the passport advantage website included

did you look in the bin directory of the SDK?

ah, point there, problem is, we dont have the SDK, and they dont seem to know where it is, we asked but they get confused, useless tech support xD

That is because the only .net SDK I can find is for V8

their may not be a V10 SDK

They are saying that their tests with the V8 Dlls work with their V10 instance...

haha, that doesnt sound right though. as the V8 dll's fail when you call their 'login' method. Looking up the error it takes you to IBM support, where it says the fix is to get the v10 dll's :/

tried, their support desk is useless, the guy i got last time didnt know what an SDK was

managed to hunt around through god knows how much file structure and incorrect documentation, but found what i think is the v10 SDK samples, which all use the same dll's were using, which tell us they are v8. But that still makes no sense, because if there is no v10, why make a support page and an error telling us to get v10 xD

@RhysW Because some tech guy got the call found out they were v8 dlls and said well that is the problem you need v10 dlls...
