Found a new job. Well, more like the job found me.
Year and a half ago I interview at a healthcare startup. Best application experience ever. The CEO and I clicked exceptionally well.
That one didn’t work out unfortunately, but I got a call from him last week saying he was running a new startup now and would I like to come build/run their IT
Both times, we managed to do the whole process in under a week :)
I’ve recommended job hunting in the past because it’s a good way to network, and I now have some first hand evidence to back that up.

it's always nice when you get a blast-from-the-past call you up like that, I've had it happen a couple of times and it's always made the application process buttery smooth

@Kaz if I may ask: what due diligence did you do before accepting the offer at the startup? (E.g. reviewing that the company was well funded)

@zmike Honestly? None.
Right now it’s a pilot run out of a prestigious institution, aiming to be spun out as a JV in the next 3 months.
Right now, I’m doing 1 month as a consultant. Essentially an extended job interview. And if that goes well, we’ll sit down in a month to nehotiate a permanent position.
