It would seem like our spammer is trying to ask a half reasonable (though still off-topic) question, but can't resist letting us know who it is with that username.

I wonder if I have enough reputaion points to chat here

@Ourjamie that would be a "yes".. welcome :)

Oh my days I do... sorry that came as a surprise I never though of myself as have a SE reputation and thank you motosabatsu

@Ourjamie how's life treating you?

@motosubatsu not that good, a simple handover has turned int a silly power struggle (them not me - I'm just an intermediary), meetings galore and I hate the pandemic, but love working from home permanently now and you, how are things with you today?

@Ourjamie yeah can't complain - it's a bit monday though :)

I find every day a blended day now, so what good things are you going to get from your monday?

@Ourjamie yeah the blending effect is something I've noticed - I think it's happening less for me than others as I'm still in the office

Even though I am highest of the high-risk, I had to get back to the office for mental health reasons. I fear for those who can't get back to work, as it takes a terrible toll on mental health. I hear the suicide hotline is getting over one hundred times as many call now. It doesn't surprise me.
I'm doing a good deal of donating right now, hoping I can help some who need food and other things.

Hi everyone. I have a small question.
I did my internship at XYZ ministry (provincial/state government). That was in 2018. I now finished my studies and there is a job at that ministry that I want to apply for. But the position is in a different branch in the ministry. I am wondering if I should mention in my cover letter, the NAMEs of my supervisor and branch executive director who I worked with during my internship Or should I just leave the names out?
I mean my reasoning for mentioning the names are that they are quite well known in the whole ministry (the ED and the Assistant Deputy Minister) ... And I am hoping that mentioning their names and that I worked with them (which is not usual - they are high profile people) may increase my chances for making it through the screening process and may even land me an interview ...
But it can also be seen as bragging ... or something of that sort. Like I am trying to convince them that they should call me in just because I worked with these people ... which is wrong.
I don't know.
Can someone help?
