Q: Inconsistent comment moderation appears capricious

Wesley LongSo I had a long comment thread form under one of my trademarked "Harsh Truth" answers here: How can I reply to coworkers who accuse me of automating people out of work? And I notice one comment I made about being able to handle the flak was removed. The thread makes no sense for a bit because ...

Just for some closure (I know @motosubatsu was around when it happened) on the problems we had with our backup: turns out that the tapes were simply full, probably because we weren't able to run full backups before our incremental backups the weeks that the issues occured. Our sysadmin also said that we probably couldn't know about this.
@Nzall Yeah you'd be surprised how often that one catches people out! Glad it all got resolved

any people who work in "blue collar" jobs ever come here. I got a few more questions and the answers I been getting don't tell me what I need to know or are wrong.
@Tina_Sea there are a few "blue collar" folks on TWP, although they probably are in the minority relatively speaking. Anything I can help with?

@motosubatsu I'm just having trouble since the shutdown of my last place. Because of my injury, I'm going through voc rehab (The grafts on my arm scarred and I don't have full use of it) trying to get more work. The last time I asked a question, I got peope telling me how bad America is in the comments. Not helpful. Others said I should see a lawyer over my last job. Lawyers want money to take your case, and even if I had the money, which I don't, I can't wait five years for a judge.
I'm just frustrated because theres no good advice for my situation.
I assume you mean this one?

Q: What can I do to find new work while my workplace is closed due to an accidental death?

Tina_SeaMy friend at work was killed by one of the machines and it was awful. The place has been closed so there's no work. We don't know when the factory is going to reopen or if they're closing down forever. If they open again, I don't know if I want to go back. I threw up thinking about going back...

to be honest I'm not sure there's much specific advice I can give for your situation myself - I'm not as familiar with the intricacies of workers comp. and voc rehab on your side of the pond unfortunately

@Tina_Sea I know it's unlikely since you're in the US, but does your sector happen to have a union or other worker's right body?
Because if there is such a body, you might have some luck approaching them for advice
I know that at the very least in Belgium, the unions are willing to work with you to find a solution to this problem at a vastly lower cost than the courts

Q: I was reported to HR for being a satan worshipper

JaredI promise this isn't click bait, but no I'm not a satanist. I recently bought a phone case with the anti-possession star from the TV show Supernatural printed on it. It's a personal phone, but it's on my desk all day so I can see if I get a notification. Sometimes I chat with friends, but I also ...

^it might be some good ol' fashioned Friday Fiction but I just couldn't resist the opportunity to get a Supernatural reference or two in. I'll get my coat.
@Nzall we have unions, but they do more bribing of politicians and protecting their pets than anything else. The laws are a joke because you need to have money for a lawyer and it takes year.

looks like some attention seekers have learned that soap opera will no longer help them stick into HNQ (btw thanks to modrs for that!) Now they seem to be trying next trick - rehashing older popular questions (like here and here). This could work, I saw it used few years ago at Programmers - if memory serves back then we've got about dozen hot questions until community figured the cheat and got angry
20:21
Yeah, just so long as you're not helping anyone, you're great.
