There are actually two questions in that situation: about dealing with the boss, about dealing with the VC.

Makes me wonder how far along he is with the VC? Are they negotiating the term sheet? Are they already doing due diligence?

For future reference... what is the best way to deal with excessively long comment chains? I tried to flag them all but there were ~30 and that was tedious. Then I flagged the question and left a message. Is there a better way to handle it. A way that the mods prefer?

@bruglesco A single custom flag on the post is generally preferred. A simple "comments need cleanup" works. Note that posts with long comment chains will be automatically flagged and cleaned up, but that only happens once usually. If you see a "moved to chat" with a lot of discussion still going on, just custom flag it.
