@gwp calling people "The Cabal" is likely violating the Be Nice policy. Please stop.

Funny story. I got a net reputation loss of 8 points after one user was removed, which means I had got 1 upvote and 1 downvote from them. Since I don't write too many answers at once, and I just happened to see the vote count for all my recent answers shortly before the account got deleted, I know with absolutely certainty which answer got the upvote and which one got the downvote. The point of all this long winded explanation is in some corner cases, voting is not anonymous.

Q: Why do we allow referring to an enum member of an enum member in Java?

Cheok Yan ChengGiven the following enum: enum Repeat { Daily, Weekly, Yearly } I realize we are able to write it this way: Repeat repeat = Repeat.Daily.Weekly.Yearly.Weekly; which is equivalent to: Repeat repeat = Repeat.Weekly; May I know why such syntax is allowed? Is there a way to let t...

A user with 17.5k reputation on SO gets 3 "unclear what you're asking" votes for a reasonably well written and clear question (I am referring to the initial version), and here we get complaints about being hostile to new users. :P

I have now submitted a public grievance to the Government of India to get rid of the relieving letter and some other nuisances from our employment practices. I have referenced some of the "international best practices" I learned about over here. Since they are a democratically elected government, I don't expect them to do anything drastic any time soon, but I will keep you guys updated on where this goes. :)

Random observation: It's interesting to see how some people, who post their question on the completely wrong site (like MSE), still take the time to choose tags. Those tags don't fit, at all. No surprise there, since they are on the wrong site. Doesn't seem to bother them, though (also that they can't find an even somewhat fitting one).

@AnneDaunted I am pretty sure most of them try to submit the question without tags first, but since that doesn't work, they then actually read about "this tag thing". They find out that up to 5 tags can be used, so figure out might as well add as many as they can. They start typing keywords from their post. If they are lucky, they go with the available tags, else they randomly pick one of the matches.

@MaskedMan That's likely what they are doing. Real determination to post their question right there, no matter what. Those tags are probably just something to keep bots away, like captchas, anyway.
