8:59 AM
Morning. I signed the contract and starting on Monday. Woho
I m curious why the contract didn’t had any yearly review mention. Should I be concern? @motosubatsu

9:30 AM
@localhost are you going to be an employee?

1 hour later…
10:43 AM
@motosubatsu yes

@localhost it's not something to be concerned about - most places handle things like reviews and that sort of thing separately from the underlying contract.

Just seeing after myself, that's all.
Today I gotta make some finances decision
I had tesla model 3 which is arrears 5k, now they want it back so they can settle 5k
my son is in pvt school, we have arrears or he cannot go to school (I m not sure in UK if u can shift pupil to state school in mid term, though I do not want to)
overdraft wanna default me

@localhost you can shift schools mid term

I borrowed 4k from my mom which is almost finished to overcome car arrears

if tesla are happy for you to hand the car back and walk away I'd just do that

10:53 AM
@motosubatsu how? someone told me u cannot and ofsted rating isn't true representation of rating
I started investing, I made profit of 10 pound so I m looking to do that and learn the basic

@localhost well they were wrong (my fiancée works in a school as an administrator - she deals with this sort of thing all the time)
ofsted rating isn't everything - it's a useful bit of info though

great, maybe u have some knowledge of it then. how do I find a good school? coz the pvt one came through a recommendation, my son is really happy there and I m super confused if I will be cutting his happiness down as he is sort my version. I am very selective otherwsie I m very closed
@motosubatsu what is useful to see if school is good or not

@localhost If you can get recommendations from people you know that's good and rather than going off the ofsted rating reading the actual report is much more informative. They're written in plain language that's easy to read and you can find them easily through the search function on their website - you can put your postcode in to look at nearby schools

There is always a chance of rating done by staff or self. e.g. I called a local nursery for my second one, and left them msg but no one replied
I m very critical of someone response to me and how I do business or deal with them

@localhost kids are pretty resilient - and I'm sure he's happy at his current school but if you can't afford it then he'll adapt to a new school well enough
@localhost ofsted ratings aren't done by the school or their staff - that's the whole point. It's an independent government body that does the inspections and writes the reports

11:07 AM
no I mean google rating
when u search them

@localhost yeah google ratings aren't worth anything

that is new to me
e.g. I am looking for a house cleaners and I would go through google rating, ur saying google ratings don't matter?

it's an incredibly easy system to falsely skew one way or another so I wouldn't put much faith in them
I certainly wouldn't be using them to determine things like schools and nurseries
I don't know much about nursery tbh - my fiancée's school has one but she doesn't do much with that side of it
I know they get Ofsted inspected too - and likewise the reports will be available for viewing
and it can be much harder to find a nursery placement than a school one because nursery isn't something that's legally mandated to be available for every child, whereas school is

it is truly a hard decision
I was put in different school, I was mocked, bullied as part of it and never got along with anyone coz everyone treating me like alien
I dont wanna have that done for my son
I have to see where I can cut finance but again, in new session they r raising fee

11:38 AM
hey@motosubatsu i see ur on finance.SE
I need books for financial education and investment
for beginners, any recommendation>

I'm decidedly not the expert on things like investing - I know precisely enough about it to know that I don't know enough to do it

not sure of finance SE allows recommendation

it seems like a really easy way to lose a lot of money in a hurry

well I invest 100 quid for 3 months, I saw them go down to 275 then when it went surplus I took it out
I really wanna build passive income and not without knowledge
if 7 months and previous 7-8 unemployment had taught me is to have big reserve of money
money can get respect coz u r paying all stuff

while I'm not saying you can't make decent passive income through investing it's difficult to do so reliably - there's a reason why people who do it for a living a well paid. It's not easy!
as an amateur I'd say if you can't afford to lose the money - don't invest it
@localhost having reserves is good - no argument there. But if people are only "respecting" you because you pay for everything, they don't respect you

11:51 AM
agree, my bro isn't open book but he invests without any knowledge (well now he knows or maybe) has lost money big time.

@localhost the sensible way to invest as a non-expert is through something like an investment ISA
the returns aren't as big - but the risks aren't either
honestly in your position I'd be looking to get yourself stable first - get the essentials covered with your stable income (i.e. wages) get some buffer savings built up and only then start looking for ways to invest
you've got a lot to handle right now - new job, sorting out the lingering financial issues like your car etc, schools and nursery for the kids, generally being a parent. Don't overload yourself

thanks, ur advice are always great, though my thinking is to build up knowledge so when time come I know my stuff
I m overloaded already
I cannot WFH coz the biggest mistake I made after my MIL died was to shift near her house so my partner can cook for her family but the lady who wanted to give us house backed out, so I m stuck in the same house as MIL since she passed and its is a huge mess

exactly.. so give yourself some time before you start trying to take on new knowledge, you'll have plenty to learn and do with the new job - and you need to make sure you're still giving yourself time for relaxation

I did maths and I cannot afford house on rent, If I have to that mean rethinking finances but ATM I have big doubts on my abilities and work ethics coz 3 yrs has ruined me

@localhost yeah.. from what you've said before it's not a great situation living-wise

12:04 PM
and cannot do WFH coz of huge partner family + my family (i tried wfh but it failed), offices which I prefer ask 2 months rent which I do not have.
it is very tight situation

hopefully once you've been at your new job a few months finances will stabilise and you can look at renting your own place

yea, ATM my sister was kind enuff to lend me her house to live in while they r away and use the office too
so I will be shifting there minus the family
to focus on getting the grips of work
hopefully, tbh I lost ability to be confident loosing so many jobs

I know it will be difficult being without your family - but that's actually not a bad idea, let's you focus and get yourself immersed in just making sure you do the best job you can

12:21 PM
100%
