Is there a real difference between the "law" and "rights" tag? I'd assume both are about employment law.
@Tina_Sea That's awful. Any chance the management is legally required to do some of the repairs? There might be laws requiring a certain amount or type of upkeep for safety reasons.

@BSMP IMO, "Legally Required" has even less weight right now than it used to. Usually, you'd force the issue by ordering the repairs yourself and taking it out of that month's rent payment. But if you're not paying rent in the first place, that doesn't really work.

Also @BSMP usually there is a clause in contracts (UK ones at least) that says you waive those rights if you don't keep up with rent payments

@Kilisi Haha, I guess I can see both points. Now is an excellent time for some outdoorsmanship, but from that description it's sounding a bit like backyard gymnastics as well and those I'd probably only do over a gym mat, no matter how soft your grass is. :D
But these sure are weird times. I've lost more money than I care to admit in this economy but I'm healthy, employed and have plenty of things to do in lockdown. But there are some nightmare scenarios taking place out in the world right now.

11:49 AM
@Lilienthal yeah, you got to keep things in perspective and stay positive. Could be a lot worse.

Ain't that the truth. Wise words for these strange times, though some are also taking this too far in the other direction I guess... :)

@Neo haha.. not the dreaded COVID - but as a result of that my physio isn't operating so I'm rather overdue for a treatment and it's.. painful

@Neo @avazula @RoryAlsop Wow, this room has a lot of mods. Mind if I ask that chat.stackexchange.com/users/454690/user741577 be given explicit write access to chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/52405/the-apl-orchard ?

Hello everybody, how are things going?

8:43 PM
So, I found out that we can redirect Smoke Detector's alerts specific to TWP into a chatroom. I created such chatroom and now the redirection is enabled. In case anyone wants to join the efforts, this I hope will be an useful tool: chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/106445/no-smoking-in-the-office
4
On that chat will all the TWP and Meta TWP possible spam alerts be redirected. One can then navigate to the post to evaluate the situation.
If this is something anyone of you really likes, we can work forward on adding users to a list, so they can provide feedback to Smoke Detector and help improve the filters, etc.
Any feedback on this please do tell :)
