Morning all....I am surprised that one of the four candidates has not bothered to answer the questions...

@MisterPositive It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for him

@motosubatsu it will not LOL
However I believe he will get some votes.
Alita was really good, if anyone is considering seeing it.
Good story, fantastic effects.

@MisterPositive I had plain to see it

@MisterPositive I'm intrigued.. not sure if I'll get chance to see it at the cinema or not though

family commitment wouldn't align me and my wife to see together but yea I intend to see

1:01 PM
My friend ^^^^^^
Remember folks, drive and persistence can overcome anything

Has anyone had much experience with MVC?

@Twyxz yarp
what do you need?

Been trying to solve this problem for ages... Sent it to a senior to fix and he ran to test
and it works on his pc

what problem are you having?

1:17 PM
I'm using a map and when I enter a postcode the coords from the postcode recenter the map
which works on everyone elses pc but mine

is it a google maps api call?

nah its an open layer thing
It works, I've tested it on other peoples pc's and it does exactly as I want and developed it to do
but some reason I just get no functionality when I run mine

@Twyxz cache can be pain in neck
try private session

what's the environment? VS version.. browser?

Same

1:22 PM
I'd be inclined to think that something was preventing yours from downloading the OpenLayers js

Our VS's are kept up to date from the service desk. Browsers also
It's probably just permissions...

have you tried getting to the js URL manually>?

As an apprentice they expect me to develop the same as middle or even seniors and then have 0 permissions
Yep
Literally uncovered google

what happens when you go to the URL manually?

I can implement a map in over 100 different ways now, probably worked every time hahahahhaa

1:55 PM
It is really hard to develop when your not an ADMIN on your PC

@MisterPositive amen to thatr

@MisterPositive I heard that! Worse still, when you have to call the help desk, and they are so incompetent, you have to spend a half hour explaining to them how to fix the problem, that you could have fixed in 30 seconds if you had admin rights

@RichardU Happened to me once, so now I ask before I join a company

@MisterPositive I have a new distraction in life. My latest adventure is a campaign to get customer service people off script by being nice to them. It usually makes their day.

Going back to what got me out of my deep despair. I'm going back to my plan of making at least five people smile every day.
I'm tired of conflict.
and I've just bought a few thousand gallons of joker venom ;)

2:30 PM
The rude comments are annoying me... Flagination beginning.
@IDrinkandIKnowThings Wilkommen, mein Herr.

morning all

@IDrinkandIKnowThings The election is going well this year. No outside influences, no character assassinations, no nastiness.
almost anticlimactic.
Although, I do expect some sort of last minute suspension as a defensive measure to make sure I don't drop some sort of bomb at the last minute.
Not that I would, but a few people are not very trusting.

@IDrinkandIKnowThings Greetings

The grass is always greener?

3:03 PM
@RichardU that a illusion . Never grow up and grass is greener on the side ur on.

@RichardU Its no secret, IMO that Mags will win. You don't need much Rep here to cast a vote. It is fine though, as the rules have not changed in that regard since the last election.

@MisterPositive You are my first choice, FWIW.

@RichardU I am very honored sir. Thank you.
I would be happy with that or Darkness.
Work has been a real sh!t show these last two days...have I ever told you guys I have EF?

@MisterPositive what is EF?

MS Entity Framework

3:12 PM
ooooooo....
My condolences

and I guess MS stands for Microsoft ?

@RichardU Thank you :=)

@Kepotx either that or minesweeper.

@Kepotx Correct sir.
minesweeper might be a better option

At the risk of getting another kickout by pointing to the emperor's lack of clothing.... The powers that be at SE seem to be constantly begging for feedback, but get rather perturbed when you provide any, unless it's filled with platitudes, pontifications, and protests of undying love.
anything less, and one is seen as "problematic"

3:40 PM
Hmmmm, I am thinking of changing my handle to Gwynplaine.... yes/no?

The Man Who Laughs (also published under the title By Order of the King) is a novel by Victor Hugo, originally published in April 1869 under the French title L'Homme qui rit. It was adapted into a popular 1928 film, directed by Paul Leni and starring Conrad Veidt, Mary Philbin and Olga Baclanova. It was recently adapted for the 2012 French film L'Homme Qui Rit, directed by Jean-Pierre Améris and starring Gérard Depardieu, Marc-André Grondin and Christa Theret. In 2016, it was adapted as The Grinning Man, an English musical. == Background == Hugo wrote The Man Who Laughs, or the Laughing Man, over...
Gwynplaine is the title character

Oh.
I haven't read that book.

4:10 PM
@MisterPositive It's victor Hugo, who wrote it while he was in exile. Very sad, but very good

@RichardU Oh....I will add it to the list...

Looks like another rep-cap today.... they need a badge beyond legendary. LOL.

@RichardU yes they do LOL

5:00 PM
@RichardU This may be of interest to you.

5:37 PM
@AnneDaunted well, that was Philadelphia. They've become highly uncivilized as of late.

So better keep away from Philly?

@AnneDaunted These days, yes. Been a bit of violence as of late.
Depressing really

Sad development

Q: What is this site's editing policy?

JBHI've become confused by two meta posts: Edit invalidating top voted answer (REOPENED) Reopen request: Clean Air & Office In the first, user @MonicaCellio made substantial editorial changes in an effort to remove backstory distraction and clarify the question.
