I was gonna put a question in WP but thought to put here first.

So I started project very excited but now I had missed deadline and my team is realy easy going with the fact that what is produced is beyond exceptional but given i missed my own self claimed deadline has left me destoryed, I feel down, sad and not motivated and feel like project is not gonna end. Even I do not want to study or work of anything on treehouse. Any advice on how to get back on track would be helpful.

was this a deadline for work or just one you had set yourself?

The boss asked me, give me a deadline and I did after few hours

have you updated the boss with the delays?

I didn't anticipated the time I had to take to understand the system as they gave me new framework.

however I cannot talk to him about my contract as its ending next month, and I wanted to find out if they r extending. and I cannot coz I think before delivery on project it look bad.

@motosubatsu yes I hit major milestone, it like everything that makes them money is done. but alignments and glitters r off.

I was lost when started coz I thought I need to give them functionality minus design but then I thought I need to give them visual so I can have structure, which I did and incremental work showed up too. time wasted was on thinbking process and getting to know the library as they introduced me to it so they knew i was new,

the deadline was given by me and I was very naive, as for the project ending before contract, he gave me a nother website, which i was due to start working right after this website so I m 2 days behind.

shld I ask manager about contract extension as i do no want have cold feet on the D-Day and do not have anything in hand

also I didn't thought of time would taken me this much with stuff I didn't thought it would

the easy things were hard, the hard things were easy (as I thought)

@Nofel sounds like things are progressing.. thinking and getting up to speed on the tools in use isn't "time wasted" because you need to do that before you can produce anything. I would say if you are going to talk about extensions then ~ 1 month to go is a reasonable timeframe, and if you've got work assigned that is expected to go beyond the end of the current term you just say "I've got enough work to keep me going past our initial term. I'm happy to stay longer if you want me to?"

what if he say "Finish this then we will talk aboit it as ur overude" I know he isn't like that but he can tell me simple as that

mind you, this is my first contract in a long time.

and during hiring, it was decided. "we will see how things grows and we will take it from there"

he might say that.. in which case you just check back with him when you either a) finish the work you currently have or b) the last week of the contract starts, which ever comes sooner

I stop my time everytime I have problem with completing X task, then I tell myself, even architects have issue

I tried and couldn't get to the actual problem at hand. It seems to be that the supervisor is complaining about being shamed for not doing his own work.

About the only thing I'd consider answerable is the last sentence and for that we need actual info from the OP about why he's worried about "getting his" and other details of the situation, with the main body of the post being irrelevant to that question.

I guess you can rephrase to focus on the use of WhatsApp for work things, but that's a simple company policy question. We're not security.se.

@motosubatsu Good first edit, I'd replace "How would you respond to this" mainly because it's bait for opinion CVs, but I'm not sure it's even all that relevant. Not sure we should be entertaining a "what should I have done if I were X in this situation where I don't know all the details". Questions-by-proxy are hard to answer.

@Lilienthal IMO the background of the Posted Paper Caper is relevant to interpreting whether the manager is on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge Picking on their team members or just a normal manager who happened to recently have gotten a little grumpy with a colleague
