7:44 AM
@Kilisi Man, "forestry days" sounds amazing. Though I'm probably too reliant on my creature comforts for something like that. :)

8:17 AM
@Lilienthal excellent money, cool people, beautiful environment, but I'm all about creature comforts these days... so I won't even pretend I'd go back to that life

Could be worse, Working in trading companies where everyone's making insane amounts of money and you just sit and watch until you have enough time to learn

morning everyone

8:34 AM
Morning :)

morning @Twyxz

I think I have an issue in my current company with mental health...

sup @Twyxz

@Twyxz ?

I'm making minimum wage as an apprentice/intern depending on where you live but everyone is a trader but I don't even earn enough to start where's everyone is just making in some cases millions and i'm just sitting with my software development role for next to nothing
It's a bit depressing to me even though I know money isn't everything

8:41 AM
Company hire intern to pay them mimimum but give them work which is actual paid but it is good way to up ur skills.
@motosubatsu I been offered perm job
yay

Yeah as development but I'm now wanting to do what they do
but seems out of reach as of current
but if they make me full time after then I should be in a good place

@Twyxz I can understand where you're coming from (my first software dev role salary was a whopping £12k a year!) but you have to remember that everyone has to start somewhere

how long the company said they will takje u as intern before making a perm

Even a trader just starting out doesn't earn "millions"
@Nofel - nice one!

@motosubatsu my boss said, let us know if u want contract or perm coz we like to retain u
the only thing mortgage
that is perm reason for me

8:43 AM
@motosubatsu I know this, I see people in the same company (clients) who are going up around 50 pound per week but this is still additional income I'd like to take part in
Anyway I'll get there haha, Working my part time job to keep my going too so I'm in an okay place for my age especially if I can save and make use of the opportunity and resources I have available

@Twyxz sounds like a sensible attitude to me! how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

19
Still young plenty time to develop my skills and bank :|
At least I get to see Supercars on a daily basis

@Twyxz Love ur attitude towards growth.
that is the key, keep the fire burning!

@Twyxz definitely! guessing you're london-based if your working with traders and seeing supercars regularly? :)

You would think so, but no hahah their office... is a 5 bedroom house
thats been converted
7 car drive that was built for them so they've just used it as a more comfortable out of town area where they can utilise the cars a bit more
People must walk past in the estate and think what on earth is going on with them but yeah it's interesting

8:51 AM
@Twyxz cool.. London isn't a great place to enjoy cars and I have a healthy amount of respect for people who enjoy their cars rather than just posing at 2mph in the city :)

The owner has his PA drive a Audi RS7 in behind him as an entourage whilst he drives his modded 1000bhp Nissan GTR which is actually scary how fast it disappears infront of you
Posings part of the game, why not? You've earned it :)

RS7s are seriously nice bits of kit :) I was at Santa Pod a couple years back and was chatting to the owner of one that was modified and it was scary quick

I don't like the sound ppl produce in small street with those cars

the current model (2016-) makes my car look like a snail

A6?

9:03 AM
@Nofel nope.. I replaced the S6 last month. It was just getting too annoying having to constantly hand over large amounts of cash for random things breaking on it so I traded it in. Running an RS5 now.

RS5's are still nice
But RS7's are just so nice, he's only got her because she has a bit of a brain but is extremely good looking hahahaha he even admitted it
but hey she's loving life
I'm not a fan of the GTR (although the quickest) as much as I am of this R8 V10+ wrapped in this light blue colour it's so nice and still pulls a decent 800bhp

9:19 AM
And here I am, having to be happy with my reduced-HP 4-cylinder Diesel because it's "eco-friendly".

@Twyxz Yeah I had to keep my vaguely sensible head on when I was replacing the S6 as I needed the car to be a daily driver. GTRs are fantastic but firmly in the "toy" category IMO

I should look at the GTR leasing prices just to have a good laugh. :)

@Lilienthal The RS5 has an "economy" screen in the on board computer thing and it will give you "helpful" reminders telling you to turn the AC off to save fuel if you have the windows open. I'm like, yes the AC is why I'm averaging 19mpg, nothing to do with the huge V8 under the bonnet, no sir!
@Lilienthal I'm firmly of the philosophy that everyone with the slightest interest in cars should run something totally ridiculous at least once in their life - even if it's just for a year

hahahah make sure your AC is off and your radio is off

Of course I've been doing that for the last 15 years so perhaps I'm not the best person to be giving advice ;)
@Twyxz meh.. my "concessions" to economy are to put it in "Comfort" mode and set the cruise at 80 :P

9:26 AM
Well for my age I should count myself lucky with my Leon FR

@Twyxz nice :) I've always liked the quick Leons.. and that's miles ahead of what I was driving at 19!

Not from my own success should I be first to add

I've driven a good friend's '07 FR TDI a few times and they are cracking cars - and so much car for the money!

I'd never be able to insure it
Yeah greatly efficient for the power, relatively cheap, amazing range of features. Plus on top of it all it looks relatively low key but still shows the worth

@Twyxz yeah I feel sorry for your generation :( Insurance is just silly now for people your age.
@Twyxz I'd agree with all of that

9:30 AM
A while ago, I quoted for a mclaren on moneysupermarket.com, just to see how much it would be. I got a decent quote. Now they keep emailing me about it.
£788 per year.

@Snow get some roof bars to tie the dogs to and go for it
@Snow not bad at all that.. think I'm paying a bit less than £2k a year for all four of mine on a multicar

Lol for my first car - 2014 Clio 0.9 Litre TCE
Guess my insurance

Then again, I'm over 50 now.

@Twyxz £3.6k?

And lets say I live in a decent neighbourhood in which I'd be classed for the cheapest
Nope too high

9:32 AM
@Twyxz £2k?

I put all the things in that make it go down
Yeah hahaha
here's snow getting Mclarens for 700 a year

Try guess insurance for my first car (1.0 Micra) in 2000

probably like £500
Depending on your age and generation

My porsche is currently costing me about £350 a year.

@Twyxz pretty close.. it was £560 a year (I was 19)
@Snow not bad at all

9:35 AM
What model @Snow

It's a Macan S diesel.

Nice, classy car

It's a very nice drive and practical for the dogs. I used to have a run of Land Rovers, but the servicing standards at the local main dealer made me choose something different.

I'd be probably driving something amongst the range rover range when I get past my boy racer days hahahaha

I loved my old Range Rover. Extremely comfortable and the 4.4 diesel engine was buttery smooth. A bit thirsty though.

9:39 AM
I wouldn't want a big box tho I was thinking more of an Evoque but I feel it defeats the objective of having a range rover really

I'm now getting high 40's mpg and 0-60 times of about 6 seconds, which suits me fine.
I had an Evoque for a couple of years. It was nice, but some of the build quality wasn't good. By the end, the transmission was making sounds that I didn't like at all, so I let that one go.

big car, fast, pretty decent fuel consumption. Perfect car for you really
cheap evoque or top of the range
range overs have a hefty range from around 24k to god knows what brand new

mine was almost top of the range, a prestige lux. one down from a Dynamic.

I like the look of the cheapest one oddly enough
but looks aren't everything

For my partner, colour is everything.

9:42 AM
I'm still set on my next car being an A5 or A7 then upgrading to either GTR or R8V10 depending on how much money I make in my lifetime. Preferably aiming to run my own business

She loved the evoque because it was red. Not so sure about the porsche because it's black.

Same here although young my girlfriend is adament that white cars are big and small cars are black or other colour
Big car - White car but luckily for me I love the white Evoque or a Gray

white evoques look like stormtroopers.

I got two bicycles, one mountain bike, one touring, both together cost me less than you pay for insurance a year

@Snow You've officially put me off Evoques forever. Because I'm gonna start making references as I drive hahahah

9:45 AM
Volvo is where it's at these days.
@Kilisi ...and a lot cheaper to replace after a typhoon...

@Snow Volvo's take big out of proportion in their largest range
I've seen them not even fit between lines and stick out at the same time

I do love the look of black cars.. but damn they show even the slightest mark or bit of dirt

A little too big for my liking :)

XC60 is a decent size.

and you disappear in the dark @motosubatsu Just some flying lights going at ridiculous speeds

9:51 AM
@Twyxz I had a similar problem with the S6.. it was just way too long for most parking spaces
@Twyxz ahh so you've seen me drive then? :P
@Snow agreed.. always struck me as being an excellent allrounder

I don't really do fast any more. I've been there, done that.

@motosubatsu Who knows, I was driving to Edinburgh at nice and literally a black A5 doing probably around 120 just appeared and disappeared within seconds I could just see the lights
at night*

@Twyxz I tend to keep it below the ton on the motorway.. need my license too much!

hahah people who I work for don't care, more money than sense. Potentially just know too much about the area. Plus we're rather secluded so speeding for a good 20 mile isn't a problem for them

@Twyxz local knowledge can be key.. when I lived in the lakes I had very good knowledge built up about when and where I could safely get away with doing substantial speeds

10:01 AM
In my area there's a stupid 50 zone on the A1 and everyone and their dog do 70+ including police, they're just not bothered by it

@Twyxz the stretch just south of Newcastle? it's been a few years since I was over that way but everyone just used to hammer it down there

@motosubatsu Not strange at all - I need to remove my bio :Z hahahahhaha yeah that exact stretch

@Twyxz Was heading back from Newcastle to Birmingham with a mate years back - it was about 1am and there was pretty much just three cars on the road - us, a Merc C-class and a WRX and we were all just sort of cruising at about the ton

With under-floor neons?

and you don't need to change your profile.. no-one's stalking you. Although you did leave your kitchen light on this morning, and you should probably sort your rubbish better
@Snow hahaha...fortunately not, F&F has a great deal to answer for

10:10 AM
Hahahhahah and I actually did leave the kitchen light on which is awfully creepy
Plus my rubbish isn't sorted at all so maybe you are :/
should I run now or

It's too late to run.

@Twyxz what makes you think running would help?
The irony of this question:
6
Q: How do you deal with colleagues, acquaintances asking you for knowledge that you gained with months of effort?

MugenI'm pretty sure that these are things that we all face. Let's say that you spent months researching about something (be it moving from full time job to being a freelancer, creating a website, starting a business etc). There are colleagues who don't speak to you, but want to learn how they can do ...

Some people come up with some stupid things
Also my cars black, I can disappear
and as far as I'm aware your car is no longer black? @motosubatsu

@Twyxz nope, currently black (unless someone has sneakily repainted it while I've been in the office)

10:42 AM
@motosubatsu Payback is best served cold (blue) go check :)

11:24 AM
@Twyxz nice try.. still blacker than my soul and thirstier than a fish in the desert

I didn't say I changed your engine :)

@Twyxz hehe.. a Leon FR with that engine in would be delightfully bonkers

@motosubatsu Not a bad idea, want to swap?

Didn't Nissan put a GTR engine into a Juke as a project?

@Snow yep, called it the Juke-R IIRC
@Twyxz nice try

11:38 AM
Yep here it is in a drag race against a veyron - link

jesus ahahha
Literally if you think a stock GTR comes around 80k, for the power you get its such a bargain
too much car talk it's making me want to get something else

You can get a Bentley Continental for about 35K these days. Put a personal plate on and wash it, and not many people know that it's an old one.
A few years ago, I had the choice of going for a DB9 or a 911. I chose the 911 in the end.

@Snow they are frighteningly expensive to run though

Yes, you'd want to sell it on before the first service.

@Snow I considered tracking a DB9 down to replace the S6 but the running costs for my mileage would have been brutal

11:45 AM
not to mention being mistaken for a banker...

What kind of jobs do you guys even have my life

I'm a software developer. An old one.

@Twyxz I'm also a software developer. Also old but slightly less old than Snow

Ever tried making any additional income or you just happy with the ones you have @motosubatsu@Snow

@Twyxz I've done some freelance work as top-up in the past but a combination a couple of clients screwing me over and the workload from my "day job" increasing made me stop doing that. these days I earn enough from the day job that I'd much rather use any free time I have doing things that are not work.

11:57 AM
Fair enough I'm still young and eager to learn but ready to earn so currently with free time I just read, research and simply learn. I run a small social media business but it's slow and steady hahah

@Twyxz tbh it's a good idea when you're younger as it can not only get you a bit of extra cash but also help you develop your skills, which in turn means you can get higher paying day jobs sooner

Or even get a break through as I'm hoping
Either business, personal, trading whatever just might as well put everything I have into developing because potentially I could live a very free and relaxed future life
even if temporarily in my 20's I'd be happy to live free in 20's then back to work in my mid-late 30's. Might be a bit of a shock but I could live knowing I've enjoyed the best parts of my life

yep.. invest the time and effort now (within reason - don't work yourself to death) and you can ease off the throttle a bit later
I'm in my mid-late thirties, and as a contractor I take contracts as and when I want (aka when the bank account runs low)

My mindset is very different to the majority of people my age
They keep saying I'm rich etc... my familys well off we could say. But all my money I've made myself. I never go out drinking anymore I had a year of it now that's done. People just wonder why I work all the time but my drive to succeed is like nothing else
Maybe it's my issue to set such high standards but I just feel that's what I want

12:18 PM
@motosubatsu I was going for the 250 hp 330e this year but they just took it off the market here so...
We also had demos of the i3 here and they recommended disabling AC, radio and turning off lights to increase battery range :)

@Twyxz I think that's a good thing.. I've known plenty of people your age who have the opposite attitude and then whinge when they get to 30 and they are still just scraping by/living at home etc
@Lilienthal the 330e is a smart bit of kit :) I like the i3 as a concept and apparently they are quite usable unless you do mega miles. Look a bit weird though!
for an electric car I'd be very tempted by a Tesla.. they look fantastic and go very well. Just not exactly cheap!

Yeah, Tesla is in another class. Would be great for leasing as it wouldn't cost me anything but most employers aren't that happy to shoulder the cost. :)
Same why I'm not getting a 530e either, which did pass regulatory checks here.
But I despise the look of the i3, and interior isn't that hot either imo.
Nice city car for people who don't care that much I guess.
But in that case why pay BMW prices?

@motosubatsu Yeah I got loads of mates who are like we'll leave Uni with graduate jobs and have more money than you in the long run. Don't think so :) Plus they are the type of people to drink every night not turn up to lectures then start work late and ask questions on workplace like why am I being treat like a kid
ahahha too far maybe but seriously it's just sense sometimes

@Twyxz yeah I've seen that scenario played out dozens of times
walking into a high paying job straight on graduation is exceptionally rare

12:35 PM
In fact it tends to be just over minimum with debt on top of it

@Twyxz No. I'm mortgage free. I just prefer a nice work/life balance over slaving away.

yep a mate of mine who's just turned 24 has a good degree, a post-grad diploma and the only work he's managed to find since graduating was a temp job in Primark
@Lilienthal amen to that.. the i3 may be a well engineered bit of kit but it has the pricetag to match

and the statistical lack in graduate jobs means people with experience are more likely to be picked but they're more interested in drinking so it suits them anyway
I mean don't get me wrong, I'm borderline alcoholic but it's not all good

@Twyxz I'm kinda over the whole drinking thing, was never really that into it in the first place though tbh

I quit drinking large amounts shortly after leaving school.

12:56 PM
@Snow A moderate buzz can be fun in the right company.. but getting hammered just isn't, and that's even before you get to the hangover

@Snow Hodor

Yeah, most of the time, I'm just having one drink with dinner. Occasionally, I have two or three. Gone are the days when I aimed to get drunk.
Hello, Mister Pee.
I recall being drunk in my English Language GCSE exam. I got a decent grade.

I'm with @motosubatsu the slight buzz is what I aim for.
The hangover is just too painful to recover from at my ripe old age.

It's a waste of good beer.

@Snow or good Vodka. ( Grey goose or Kettle 1 )
@Twyxz Congrats on passing 4k!

1:14 PM
@Snow I've coded while drunk before (uni not work) and I felt like I was writing some really sh#t-hot code. Looked at it when sober the next day and it was much more of a WTF?!

You can chase money your whole life then die rich without really knowing your own kids or them getting to know you I reckon. Better to work out how to get comfortable then leave the rat race to the rats :-)
Just a matter of focus, you got a couple of decades to work it out.

Same

@Kilisi amen to that.. work to live not the other way around. I used to know a guy who worked 12-15 hour days 7 days a week for years. He earned over £100k a year but never actually had any time to enjoy anything so it just sat in the bank while he sat at his desk

My goal is to die with a zero balance.
Travel and enjoy life as much as I possibly can.
Scotland is next on my list of countries to visit

1:30 PM
@MisterPositive Scotland is ace.. you probably want to aim for what passes for summer around there though. It may look pretty when it's covered in snow but it's not that easy to get around then and for most of autumn/winter it's pretty much just cold, wet and windy
that said if you find yourself heading to scotland give me a shout - depending on which bit you're in it's only a few hours drive from me

@motosubatsu awesome, will do! Probably looking at October... ( weather crappy then?? )

@MisterPositive the weather wouldn't be great in october tbh, not horrific or anything but you'd want to be packing a decent waterproof coat!

You just missed an awesome summer up that way, last month was hot and dry.
mostly

Last time I was in Scotland I stayed here, it was a decent enough quality hotel but the view, good gawd the view!

might happen again next year

1:36 PM
So when is the best time to go, where it is not super hot? Italy was super hot in July...

"super hot" doesn't really apply to scotland

Bonny Loch Lomond, neat.

if it tops 30 degrees celsius I think half of the population would faint from pure shock

LOL
guess I have some homework to do.

June -> August will average around 16-17 degrees C

1:38 PM
Skye, in June this year.

I really need to do a Skye trip at some point

Well, not Skye, this is Plockton actually.

Not a cheap flight....

@MisterPositive depending upon how long a stay you can wrangle it's worth looking at popping down into the Lake District while you're over - only a couple of hours drive from (most of) Scotland and a fantastic place
(full disclosure - I lived in the lakes for 10+ years so I might be biased!)

As long as you can ignore coaches and elderly people at cafes.

1:41 PM
@Snow LMAO

@Snow well there is that :D
Peak Scotland (no pun intended) is probably April-May, it's warmed up enough that you can actually tolerate being outdoors and you still get some snowy caps on the higher mountains which looks awesome

That's pretty much how it is in the summer. A nice old village in the sunshine, and the centre literally filled with coaches. Every nice looking coffee shop will be full of old people in waterproof jackets.

@Snow yep...the waterproof jackets appear to be some sort of uniform, doesn't matter what the weather is actually doing

Usually made by "Regatta".

lots of rain in April / May?

1:45 PM
@Snow yeah, it used to be Berghaus but that's just sooo nineties now

where are the darn castles...

@MisterPositive not mega amounts.. April is usually the driest month
@MisterPositive pretty much everywhere!

Nice!
Everyone have a nice weekend, take care!

1:52 PM
@Snow Where is this?

What on earth happened

Scotland.
Balmoral to be exact.

@Snow LOL yes....wher
e
ah thanks!

I left my desk for 20 mins came back with 100 rep just sitting there and Scotland everywhere

@Snow aka Queen Lizzie's scottish crash pad :D

1:53 PM
Yep. We stayed there a couple of years back.

@Snow did Mrs. Snow start muttering "orf with their heads!"?

Haha. No. Thankfully.
@Twyxz Just don't start talking about dogs.

@Snow speaking of dogs.. a good mate of mine recently acquired a Border Collie pup :)

2:08 PM
Very nice. They're pretty cute.

@Snow yeah saw him a couple of months back and the dog was still just a tiny puppy - basically he'd run around like a nutter until he ran out of energy and then just drop to sleep wherever he was for 20 mins and the cycle would begin again :)

I can beleive that!

@MisterPositive damn that's a big dog!

Yeah she is about 110. And she is on the smallish side for her breed. Had to get something bigger than my neighbors sheppard.

2:20 PM
@MisterPositive that means she ways nearly as much as I do!

@motosubatsu LOL
The Mom was 160
Looked like a small horse :-\

@Snow Damn I missed what you removed.
be nice to that dog.

Same photo, wrong orientation.

ah
Not sure your pup likes the hat

2:24 PM

I want a shirt.....
@Snow Cool picture

Lol, a "Stick Exchange" shirt mwahaha :) perfect for a pup

He never gives sticks back, he just eats 'em.

well, lots of fibre in a stick

2:44 PM
LOL
Am I the only one that get's annoyed as hell when people use reserved words when creating tables / column names? GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

@MisterPositive no I'm with you on that one.. SELECT [table].[select], [join].[count] FROM [table] INNER JOIN [join] ON [table].[identity] = [join].[update] ...arrrrrggggghhhhhh!

In my SQL training course many years ago, I cross aliased two tables while joining them. It really messed with the instructor's head.

@Snow were you just aiming for "Class Devil"?

it was pretty fun.

@Snow I actually saw a man carrying a 12ft stick (so a branch really) the other day coming from the beach, my caffeine-starved brain's first thought was "holy crap.. how big is his dog?!?"

2:51 PM
Haha. Yes, that would be something.

3:20 PM
hey guys

3:30 PM
Hi Nofel

so big news for TGIF is I got the job perm

:) Congrats

1 hour later…
5:07 PM
that is some great news @Nofel :D
Congratulations on that

6:06 PM
@MisterPositive what I hate is that sometimes Postgres, for who know what reason, adds double quotes to my column names. So for example instead of being user it is "user" ... some ORMs and languages sometimes give errors due to that...

6:41 PM
@motosubatsu Yep, super annoying. Also hate excessive use of prefixes (SELECT [strFirstName],[strLastName] FROM [tblMyTable])
And the cryptic 3-letter names used extensively by some vendor software packages: We have servers filled with databases with names like SWP, PT1, ERC, ARG, BGC, CBG, etc...

how about the ALL CAPS TABLE NAMES "standard"

@DarkCygnus Yep, especially if they set the collation to case-sensitive, so TYPING IT CORRECTLY IS REQUIRED
Just finally cleaned up a situation where we had several pairs of databases on the same server that differed only by case
Like SBXTAX vs sbxtax
that's a nice way to debug your maintenance scripts right there...

toUpperCase()

Yep. Fortunately even on a case-sensitive server, SQL keywords aren't actually case-sensitive themselves. Just object names. (On MS SQL anyway, not sure about other platforms)

1 hour later…
7:57 PM
If I'm planning a 2-week holiday which would happen 2 months after starting a new role, would it be reasonable to ask for that to be paid leave (or advanced leave), as part of offer negotiations? Or would it make more sense to just ask for unpaid?

Q: How can I gauge market demand for my skills before going freelance?

Time4TeaI am a Mechanical Engineer, currently employed full-time for a large multinational. I am considering the option of leaving my full-time job to do similar work freelance, for a number of reasons that I won't go into here in detail. So, I am wondering how I can gauge how much demand there will be ...

Please consider voting to reopen this one ^
@NotThatGuy Hey there, why not ask this on the site?
If you are switching roles, you sill have accumulated your alloted PTO, so changing roles doesn't mean those disappear. I still think this could be asked on the site, but I'll venture to say that you could ask for paid leave, as you are in your rights to do given you had PTO unused on your current role.
That or ask for payment "in lieu" for that time you didnt take

Q: Reopen: How can I gauge market demand for my skills before going freelance?

Time4TeaI asked this question yesterday, which appears to have been voted closed as 'too broad': How can I gauge market demand for my skills before going freelance? Was this question closed appropriately? I don't agree that the question is 'too broad' - it seems to me to be scoped appropriately, in a w...

Q: Is the "I'm Done" button on First Post Reviews broken?

DarkCygnusSome days ago I tried doing a First Post Review, and happened to notice a bug. I dismissed it as thinking it was some problem with my PC. However, today I entered the First Post Review Queue again and found that the error persists. Here a screenshot depicting what happens (basically the I'm Done...

^ I still see this bug occurs. Anyone else sees it also?

8:51 PM
@DarkCygnus I mean starting at a new company, so obviously the leave would be gone.
Seems a bit too opinion-based, but I never can tell what other people will think about these things.

@NotThatGuy oh I see, I thought new role was in same company
Well, then it is opinion-based as you say, it depends on what you want to do. If you want to use your PTO right away or not
Whatever you do the earlier you announce your plan the better it will be

But I mean: would they look at me funny if I ask them whether I can have those 2 weeks paid leave so soon after starting? They can always just say no, but some things you shouldn't ask. Although I suppose it's similar to just getting a signing bonus equal to that amount, so it's probably reasonable.

@DarkCygnus thanls.
@IDrinkandIKnowThings thanks buddy

@NotThatGuy I don't think it's unreasonable
Why do you worry they will look at you "funny", it's a perfectly valid questioin
Furthermore, when I just started on my current job, I already had my vacations planned. When I got the offer I accepted it but also disclosed in that moment that I already had plans for such dates
and it was also like 2 months after starting
The only thing I had to do was to organize things a bit before my departure so others could carry on with them during the weeks I was out

I thought my coworker was joking when he complemented me on my weight, but then someone else did it too a day later. Guess I'm good at hiding my fat.
I should probably figure out what will happen with my current leave too, if I leave, not that I'll really know what to do if I take them (sit at home twiddling my thumbs for 2 weeks?).
The holidays I like are very seasonal, or would really benefit from having some company.

@NotThatGuy well, don't you have a plan already given you asked this here?
I'm also in dire need of vacations, but already have a plan in progress for end of year

I have a plan for the end of the year, but I can't move it to before I leave the company.
