@jmac, This is related to your suggestion to my earlier question (workplace.stackexchange.com/questions/21563/…). The final suggestion that you made is to find a mentor. On this context I would like to post the below question. Please let me know your opinion, ideas, feedback about how good this question fits into the WPSE
Is It appropriate to write earlier Client dev lead for guidelines on the new role?

I am working for a consulting firm. I am employed at the client's location as a consultant. I don’t have any reporting manager from my employer's side. I am directly reporting to the client manager.
I have recently been promoted to a developer lead role from a senior developer role. Since this role is a bit new to me, it is very important to go in the right direction.
Earlier in my career I have worked with another client dev lead who is excellent and wonderful in playing that role that I have ever seen. He

@BVR I don't think it's a good question because you aren't explaining what the problem is or why you think it would be inappropriate. Most people would just ask the person if that's okay with them, rather than asking a bunch of strangers who don't know you, this former client dev lead, or your relationship. What makes you think we can help you?

@jmac, My only intention to post question here is avoid cluttering WPSE with bunch down votes and close votes.

BVR, you need to ask concrete questions where there is a specific answer based on the information you give us. Maybe you can try taking another look at the help center and good subjective, bad subjective to help understand and improve your questions.

@jmac, No matter what the best care I have taken to make concrete question to the best of my knowledge, at the end of the day if you and your friends feel it is not good you will vote as close. And I won't get even a clue the reason why it is not concrete
So I believe it is waste of time. Best is if you feel it is not good better not to post

Q: Can my employer force me to wear a used uniform?

SusanI work for a company in the United Kingdom, and they can't provide me with a brand new uniform, as they ran out of stock. They gave me a used (washed) uniform to wear for the time being. Someone else wore it before me. Can they force me to wear it? To me, it seems absolutely unsanitary. It's a t...

I edited this a bit to focus it more on solutions. But I can't help shake this gut feeling that if I were to reopen it, we'd still get answers like "Wear an undershirt" or "use color safe bleach" or things that don't really apply to the workplace....
Okay, after talking to the duck I'm thinking maybe I can add that as a conditional element in the question itself, so that it specifically focuses on how to bring the subject up with management....

Q: Interested in working from home in IT field

GlowieIn about 5 years or so I would like to work from home in the IT field. I am hoping this will make me more accessible to my child (I'm currently expecting in Oct 2014). I am suddenly a single mom and live with my elderly Father. My strengths are in programming, coding, SQL queries, but my experie...

This is off-topic as it stands, but I almost feel like some edits could help, but I'm not really sure what to focus on. I was thinking maybe focusing on the work-at-home part, but then the question would still be about what job to take.
